Twins and Royals at 8:10 PM ET on Friday in Kansas City
The Twins and Royals meet on Friday in the second of a four game series at Kansas City. Kansas City is now 6-4 versus Minnesota in 2015 following Thursday’s loss to the Twins.

Starting Pitcher
Minnesota will go with southpaw Tommy Millone on the mound tonight. Millone has displayed very good form over his last three starts with a superb 1.42 ERA. He’s been very good in five starts on the road this season, posting a 2.30 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in those outings. The Twins hurler will be facing an opponent (Royals) on Friday that averages 4.3 runs per game. Millone is an outstanding 36-19 (.655) in his career team starts against opponents that average 4.7 or less runs per game.

The Royals Jeremy Guthrie has endured a tough go around in the first half of this 2015 MLB campaign. He’s posted an uninspiring 5.68 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in fifteen starts. Guthrie is in bad form over his previous four starts, posting a lofty 5.31 ERA and 1.68 WHIP. In his one start versus Minnesota this year, he allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits while walking 6 in 5.0 innings during a 3-0 Royals loss. On a positive note, he’s been a bit better at home with a 3.95 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in seven outings.

Final Analysis
The Royals have averaged 4.3 runs per game and have a team on base percentage of .312 thus far in 2015. Minnesota has gone 36-19 versus American League opponents that average 4.7 runs or less scored per game since the start of the 2014 season. The Twins are also a stellar 29-17 this year versus American League opponents with a team on base percentage of .330 or less.

Kansas City enters Friday’s game on a four game losing streak. The Royals have gone an awful 7-15 since 2014 as a money line favorite of -150 to -200, and they’re currently listed as -150 at Bovada for today’s game. That includes last night’s 2-0 home loss to the Twins as a -160 money line favorite. The Royals are a rock solid 32-17 this year versus right-handed starting pitchers. Unfortunately they’re facing a southpaw on Friday, and they’ve gone an unimpressive 12-14 in that role.

Minnesota has a substantial edge on the mound tonight with Tommy Millone over Jeremy Guthrie based on recent performance lines. This game sets up very nicely for the money line road underdog and I’ll be wagering on them for one of my Friday MLB picks. Wagerweb provides with the most favorable price in that regard.
