This handicapper went a perfect 4-0 with Monday's MLB picks & now shares this betting preview article on the Nationals vs. Yankees with aces Sherzer & Tanaka toeing the rubber.

Nationals visit Yankee Stadium on Tuesday
The Yankees and Nationals will open their short two game series in the Bronx on Tuesday at 7:05 PM ET. According to the MLB betting odds at 5 Dimes, the Yankees are a -120 money line favorite, and the posted total is 7.0. These teams met in Washington earlier this season, and the Nationals won both games.

Starting Pitchers
The Nationals will send their ace Max Scherzer to the mound tonight. The power pitching right-hander has made eleven starts this season, posting an excellent 1.85 ERA, and compiled better than an 8:1 strikeout to walk ratio. He’s been lights out on the road, going 4-1 in his team starts with a microscopic 0.79 ERA.

The Yankees Masahiro Tanaka makes his second start since returning from an injury. He was absolutely brilliant in that outing at Seattle during a 3-1 Yankees win. Tanaka allowed 1 earned run, gave up only 3 hits, and struck out 9 while walking none in 7.0 innings pitched. As a matter of fact, Tanaka has now gone 3-0 in his last three team starts while displaying excellent form. In those three outings, he’s posted a 0.89 ERA, 0.49 WHIP, and just shy of a 12:1 strikeout to walk ratio.

Hot and Cold
The Yankees enter tonight riding a six game winning streak, and are 10-3 in their last thirteen overall. They’ve scored 5 runs or more in six of their previous seven games. They’re coming off a 6-2 win over the Angels on Sunday, and are 13-4 this season following a game in which they allowed 2 runs or less.

Washington has gone 1-5 in the last six and 2-9 during their last eleven games. Despite having an impressive batting order on paper, they’ve scored 3 runs or less in fourteen of their previous seventeen games.

Final Analysis
In a game that involves two red-hot starting pitchers, the tiebreaker for me is which club has produced more offensively of late. That unequivocally would be the Yankees, and they will be one of my MLB picks on Tuesday. When shopping for a favorable money line, it was Heritage which provided me with the best price.
