We browse the early odds board in search of betting value on Wednesday's games. Read on and find two MLB picks to maximize your profits as you get ready for the IFBC.

Blue Jays vs. White Sox

Left-hander J.A. Happ (3-8, 4.15 ERA, 1.33 WHIP) takes the hill for the Blue Jays after losing his third straight decision, when he gave up three earned runs on five hits with four walks and five strikeouts over six innings of a 7-2 setback against the Angels last Friday. Happ went 1-3 with a 5.00 ERA in five starts in July, posting an ugly 1.36 strikeout-to-walk ratio (K/BB) over 27 innings.

Derek Holland (5-10, 5.42 ERA, 1.57 WHIP) will get the ball for the White Sox, looking for his first win since June 13. Holland struggled against the Indians on Friday, allowing six earned runs on nine hits (one home run) with five walks and zero strikeouts in just 4 1/3 innings of a 9-3 loss against the Indians. The left-hander has thrown less than six innings in five consecutive starts and he's just 2-5 with a 4.47 ERA in nine home starts. I'm looking at Under 10 at +103 MLB odds, Happ and Holland haven't been themselves all season long  but I'm taking a contrarian approach here.

Royals vs. Orioles

Jason Vargas (13-4, 3.00 ERA, 1.23 WHIP) will start for the Royals after dominating the Red Sox on Friday, when he gave up one earned run on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts in six innings of a 4-2 win. Vargas leads the American League with 13 wins, he ranks fifth with a 3.00 ERA and he's 6-2 with a 3.35 ERA in nine road starts.

Jeremy Hellickson (6-5, 4.73 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) will make his first start for the Orioles, who acquired him from the Phillies for outfielder Hyun Soo Kim and Double-A left-hander Garrett Cleavinger. The right-hander hasn't lost since June 14 but he struggled in his last game with the Phillies, allowing six earned runs on seven hits (one home run) with two walks and six strikeouts over five innings to get a no-decision in a 9-8 loss against the Brewers on July 22. I'm taking Vargas and the Royals +104 with my MLB picks here.
