We browse the early odds board in search of MLB betting value on Thursday's card and offer two selections to maximize your profits before Thursday Night Football.

Rays vs. Yankees

Right-hander Jacob Faria (5-4, 3.33 ERA, 1.15 WHIP) takes the hill for the Rays, trying to avoid losing his fourth straight decision. Faria gave up two earned runs on two hits (one home run) and no walks with four strikeouts in two innings of relief in a 9-4 loss against the Orioles and he's winless since July 25.

Sonny Gray (10-11, 3.31 ERA, 1.17 WHIP) starts for the Yankees, looking to build on a solid effort against the Blue Jays last Saturday, when he allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts in six innings of a 5-1 win. Gray has a 2.66 ERA in three starts against the Rays, he's been outstanding in three of his last four starts and overall he's been solid with the Yankees, posting a 3.14 ERA in 10 starts with them, so I'm looking at the Yankees -1.5 at +105 MLB odds.

Angels vs. White Sox

Bud Norris (2-6, 4.42 ERA, 1.34 WHIP) will start for the Angels after taking the loss against the Astros on Saturday, when he gave up one earned run on three hits and one walk with two strikeouts in just 3 1/3 innings of a 6-2 loss. It was Norris' second start of the season as he's mostly been used as a reliever. Norris is just 1-3 with a 5.96 ERA and eight saves in 26 road appearances (one start).

Dylan Covey (0-7, 7.83 ERA, 1.73 WHIP) will make his 18th appearance (12th start) for the White Sox, as he tries to avoid losing his fourth straight start. Covey allowed three earned runs on five hits (one home run) and one walk with three strikeouts in six innings of an 8-2 setback against the Royals last Saturday to fall to 0-3 with a 6.05 ERA over his last six appearances (three starts). I'm going Over with my MLB picks, even if it's a high total.
