We browse the early odds board in search of betting value on Saturday's card. Read on and find two MLB picks on American League games that will maximize your profits before UFC Fight Night 114.

Yankees vs. Indians

Left-hander Jordan Montgomery (2-3, 6.42 ERA, 1.66 WHIP) takes the hill for the Yankees after having one of his worst starts of the season on Sunday, when he gave up four earned runs on six hits with two walks and five strikeouts in just 2 2/3 innings of work. This will be Montgomery's first career start against the Indians and he's just 3-4 with a 4.34 ERA in 10 road starts.

Danny Salazar (4-5, 4.63 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) will get the ball for the Indians after a dominant effort against the White Sox last Friday, when he allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in six innings of a 9-3 win. Salazar has been lights out as of late, going 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA and an 8.00 strikeout-to-walk ratio (K/BB) in 13 innings over his last two starts but he's just 1-3 with a 3.82 ERA in six home appearances (five starts). I'm looking at Over 9 at +102 MLB odds here. The Yankees are struggling on offense but their bats are due to wake up and Montgomery hasn't been consistent lately.

Rangers vs. Twins

Cole Hamels (5-1, 4.01 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) will start for the Rangers after giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six innings to get a no-decision on Monday's 6-4 loss against the Mariners. Hamels had surrendered 11 runs through 11 1/3 innings in his two starts before Monday and he might be past his prime but he already beat the Twins this season.

Kyle Gibson (6-8, 6.08 ERA, 1.71 WHIP) will make his 19th start for the Twins after allowing three earned runs on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts over 7 1/3 innings of a 6-5 win against the Tigers on July 22. Gibson is just 1-2 with a 7.37 ERA over his last three starts and he's just 3-5 with a 6.71 ERA in 10 home starts. I just can't trust Gibson this season, he did pitch well against the Tigers but I'll take my chances with Hamels and the Rangers as one of my MLB picks.
