We browse the early MLB odds board in search of betting value on Saturday's slate. Read on and find two picks that will maximize your profits this weekend.

Cubs vs. Orioles

Right-hander Jake Arrieta (8-7, 4.35 ERA, 1.30 WHIP) takes the hill for the Cubs after giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a 4-2 loss against the Pirates last Saturday. Arrieta was inconsistent in the first half of the season, his groundball rate has declined and he's just 5-6 with a 4.52 ERA in 12 road starts.

Wade Miley (4-7, 4.97 ERA, 1.75 WHIP) will get the ball for the Orioles after a solid effort on Saturday, when he allowed just one earned run on eight hits with three walks and four strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings of a 5-1 win against the Twins. Miley lowered his ERA from 5.20 to 4.97 after Saturday but he's still just 2-3 with a 3.60 ERA in eight home starts. I'm looking at Over 10 at -105 MLB odds here, I just can't trust Arrieta right now and Miley shined on Saturday but he gave up 19 earned runs in 16 1/3 innings over his previous four starts.

Rangers vs. Royals

Cole Hamels (4-0, 3.51 ERA, 1.07 WHIP) will make his ninth start of the season for the Rangers, coming off an impressive outing against the Angels on Friday, when he surrendered three hits and a walk with six strikeouts over 7 2/3 scoreless innings in a 10-0 win. It was Hamels' third start since returning from the disabled list with an oblique injury and his pitching gem is encouraging for the Rangers going forward, as he didn't let any runner reach second base and 65 of his 95 pitches were strikes.

Jason Vargas (12-3, 2.62 ERA, 1.15 WHIP) will start for the Royals after getting a no-decision in a tough outing against the Mariners, when he gave up six earned runs on eight hits (three home runs) and one walk with four strikeouts over five innings of a 9-6 win. Vargas had won his previous seven starts but he still leads the American League with 12 wins and a 2.62 ERA and he's ninth with a 1.15 WHIP. The left-hander is 7-1 with a 1.84 ERA in nine home starts so he should bounce back here. I'm adding Under 9 (-105) to my MLB picks as Hamels and Vargas dominate early on.
