We browse the early odds board in search of MLB betting value on Saturday's card. Read on and find two picks on American League games that will maximize your profits before UFC on Fox 25.

Rangers vs. Rays

Right-hander Andrew Cashner (4-8, 3.58 ERA, 1.41 WHIP) takes the hill for the Rangers after giving up three earned runs on six hits (one home run) and two walks with three strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings of a 3-1 loss against the Orioles last Monday. Cashner is just 2-6 with a 4.33 ERA in nine road starts and Logan Morrison is 3-for-7 with a double against him.

Chris Archer (7-5, 3.91 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) will take the hill for the Rays looking for a win after earning two no-decisions despite pitching well. Archer allowed just two earned runs on five hits and five walks with nine strikeouts over six innings of a 4-3 loss against the Angels on Sunday. The right-hander has four consecutive quality starts, he ranks second in the American League with 129 innings pitched and 156 strikeouts and he's fifth in the American League with 43 walks. I'm taking the Rays at home at -189 MLB odds.

White Sox vs. Royals

Mike Pelfrey (3-7, 4.64 ERA, 1.44 WHIP) starts for the White Sox looking for his first win since June 17. The right-hander gave up just two runs (one earned) on four hits (one home run) with one walk and two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings of a 4-3 loss against the Mariners on Saturday and he's just 2-4 with a 5.30 ERA in eight road appearances (seven starts).

Jason Vargas (12-4, 3.06 ERA, 1.22 WHIP) will start for the Royals after having his worst game of the season against the Tigers on Monday, when he allowed six earned runs on seven hits (two home runs) and four walks with four strikeouts in just 2 2/3 innings of a 10-2 loss. Vargas has given up 12 earned runs and five home runs over his last 7 2/3 innings of work but he still leads the American League with 12 wins and ranks 4th with a 3.06 ERA.

The left-hander is 7-2 with a 2.64 ERA and one complete game in 10 home starts so this is a good spot for him to get back on track. I'm taking the Royals -180 with my MLB picks.
