With the MLB Season in its early stages, it's important to note when making MLB picks that although most teams are trying to get their feet on the ground some, like KC & Detroit, are off to a flying start.

Joe C. Record - 4-0 +4.00 Units
Just a quick review of my MLB handicapping record. I've started off fast by siding with teams that have had momentum such as the Mets while also looking for attractive odds. Thus far I've been successful as momentum is the number 1 thing that I look for along with good pitching matchups.

It's raining fairly bad on the East Coast and this is a small slate to begin with. Be aware when placing your MLB picks today.

New York Yankees (6-6) vs. Detroit Tigers (10-2)-130?
I don't like to bet against the Yankees, especially when they're coming into this game with a ton of confidence, beating up on the Rays. That said, the Tigers have Alfredo Simon (2-0, 2.03) starting and Simon is picking up where he left off as a member of the Cincinnati Reds. You look at the Yankees and C.C. Sabathia appears to be at the end of the road, so to speak (0-2, 5.68) as he has gotten beaten up on in his first two starts of the season.

Here's our Betting Preview for Yankees vs. Tigers Series Coverage

Best Lineup In the American League
C.C. had thought that his weight loss from last season attributed to his poor pitching, therefore he gained the weight back. I have news for C.C.; he appears to have a dead arm and when facing a lineup that contains Ian Kinsler (8 RBI. .306), Miguel Cabrera (2 Hr, 10 RBI, .426), and J.D. Martinez (5 HR, 10 RBI), Sabathia could be in a lot of trouble. I failed to mention Rajai Dais and Victor Martinez and a whole host of others, but that's how good a team that the Tigers are. They have the best offense in the American League and their record indicates this.

My only concern is that C.C. has a big game because he's managed to have many big games throughout his career, but I'm siding with Simon and the Tigers at a very good price.

Minnesota Twins (5-7) vs. Kansas City Royals (9-3): A Carry Over Effect
The Kansas City Royals are starting off the 2015 MLB Season fast and furious after the amazing way that they got into the playoffs last season and the amazing run that they had.

I think that they're full of confidence and can have another run this season. They get an easy matchup tonight against a perennial loser in the Minnesota Twins who are big underdogs in tonight's MLB odds. The only negative that I take away from this game is that Minny beat K.C. in 2 out of 3 games in their previous series. I'm also not thrilled with Edison Volquez (1-1, 2.30). When he's good, he's good, but when he's bad he can really be bad. Volquez can be inconsistent at times, but he has the pitching advantage over Kyle Gibson (1-1, 6.10).

Lorenzo Cain
The Royals are 1st in batting average in the AL and 2nd in runs. They're a very good small ball team. One player that comes to mind is Lorenzo Cain as he's gotten off to a very fast start to the season.

For the season, Cain is hitting .413 with 2 HR, 12 RBI, and 4 SB.Cain will also have the support of catcher, Salvador Perez, who has been hitting off the chart at 3 HR, 11 RBI, and a .362 BA.. I think that last season has given both of these players extra confidence. They have been productive and consistent. Minnesota is no match for the Royals. Lay the juice with K.C.
