Not every team is in action tonight, but that doesn't mean we're short of interesting matchups. Our handicappers have been hard at work breaking down some of the top games and have come up with their most prized sports picks of the day.

New York Yankees (Whitley) vs. Toronto Blue Jays (Stroman)

Covered by Willie Bee
Both teams have lost two straight in leading up to this series opener. Toronto hasn't been playing well at all lately and now hold just a 1.5-game lead in the AL East. The Yankees may have struggled against Baltimore, but they've still been playing pretty well.

You would have to say New York has been in the better form and they've also been solid on the road, going 22-17 outside of Yankee Satdium. Willie is predicting a win for the Yankees as underdogs.

MLB Pick: Yankees +105

Los Angeles Dodgers (Greinke) vs. Kansas City Royals (Guthrie)
Covered by Willie Bee
You had to figure the Royals' significant winning streak wasn't going to last for much longer. However, they've really gone the other way, having lost four in a row to lose hold of their first place position in the AL Central.

The Dodgers will turn to the excellent Zack Greinke (9-3, 2.57 ERA) in Kansas City tonight, with the visitors posted up as the road favorites. And, with the Royals in the midst of a struggle, we can't blame Willie for liking LA in this spot.

MLB Pick: Dodgers -130

Boston Red Sox (Lackey) vs. Seattle Mariners (Hernandez)
Covered by Ron Patrick
And here we have the best pitching encounter of the day. Felix Hernandez (8-2, 2.22 ERA) and John Lackey (8-4, 2.96 ERA) have both been spectacular for their teams this season and it'd be very surprising if this was a tight game throughout.

Runs should indeed be hard to come by against these two high-performing hurlers, so it's no wonder Ron believes the UNDER holds the most value. Will King Felix and Lackey show up at their best?

MLB Pick: UNDER 6.5

San Diego Padres (Despaigne) vs. San Francisco Giants (Cain)
Covered by Ron Patrick and Jeff Grant
Andrew Cashner has been scratched from his start tonight, which is a blow to a San Diego ballclub that's trying to avoid a third straight loss. Cashner has been superb, but the Padres will have to lean on Odrisamer Despaigne, who was called up from Triple A especially to fill the void.

This appears to be a good spot for San Francisco. They've won two in a row, will be at home (where they're 23-15 this season) and have the superior pitcher in Matt Cain, who's been showing signs of coming back to his old self. Both Ron and Jeff are taking the Giants to win.

MLB Pick: Ron: Giants -155 // Jeff: Giants -155

Pittsburgh Pirates (Volquez) vs. Tampa Bay Rays (Cobb)
Covered by Jeff Grant
The Rays and Pirates have both won of each of their last two games, but one of these mini-winning streaks will come to an end tonight. Alex Cobb (2-5, 3.48 ERA) and Edinson Volquez (4-6, 4.67 ERA) will be on the mound.

The edge is clearly in Tampa Bay's favor here, armed with the better starter and the home-field advantage. Jeff, in dishing out his free MLB picks, is recommending that readers take a legitimate look at the Rays.

MLB Pick: Rays -153

Washington Nationals (Gonzalez) vs. Milwaukee Brewers (Garza)
Covered by Jeff Grant
Two division leaders go at it tonight, with the Brewers still killing it in the NL Central and the Nationals holding a narrow edge over the Braves and Marlins in the NL East. Tonight's MLB betting odds board shows Milwaukee favored at right around -120.

Washington puts the ball in the glove of Gio Gonzalez, who will try to build off a shaky return from injury his last time out. Matt Garza starts for Milwaukee, and Jeff thinks we should seriously consider the OVER. He doesn't truly trust either one of these pitchers tonight. Do you?

MLB Pick: OVER 8
