How should we attack tonight's MLB action with so few games on the board? Our handicappers have analyzed the five upcoming matchups and have drawn up their favorite plays to take to the sportsbooks.

Cincinnati Reds (Leake) vs. Washington Nationals (Strasburg)
Covered by Ron Patrick
The Reds have been a disappointment in the early stages of 2014, having gotten off to a forgettable 19-23 start. They've lost two in a row and are 4-6 over their previous 10 games.

Mike Leake (2-3, 3.09 ERA) is on the mound for Cincinnati tonight, with Washington relying on ace Stephen Strasburg, who's 3-3 with a 3.48 ERA this season.

Neither of these teams have been prolific offensively, so we can't blame Ron for thinking the UNDER is the best play available. Both pitchers have been excellent lately – will they keep it going in the nation's capital tonight?

MLB Pick: UNDER 6.5

Houston Astros (Keuchel) vs. Los Angeles Angels (Richards)
Covered by Willie Bee
What a great start it's been for Garrett Richards. He's 4-0 with a 2.42 ERA on the season, having yet to feel the taste of a losing decision.

The Angels want more of the same tonight when they play host to the Astros. Los Angeles is one of the hottest teams out there, having gone 8-2 over their past 10 games, and they come up against a Houston team that just took two of three against the White Sox.

Though Dallas Keuchel (4-2, 3.06 ERA) has been more than serviceable for the Astros in 2014, Willie is riding momentum and taking the Angels to win by two or more runs in the series opener.

MLB Pick: Angels -1.5 (+100)

Detroit Tigers (Smyly) vs. Cleveland Indians (Kluber)
Covered by Jeff Grant
After sweeping the Red Sox at Fenway, the Tigers hope to keep surging when they take on division rival Cleveland.

Tonight's starting pitchers will be Corey Kluber and Drew Smyly. Smyly has been a great fill-in option as a starter, going 2-2 with a 2.70 ERA, and Kluber hasn't been too shabby either at 4-3 with a 3.38 ERA.

While the Tigers have won six in a row and the Indians have dropped four straight, all streaks have to come to an end eventually. Jeff is thinking it's tonight and is liking the plus price that's available on Cleveland at home.

MLB Pick: Indians +100

Milwaukee Brewers (Peralta) vs. Atlanta Braves (Minor)
Covered by Jeff Grant
The Brewers may have lost two in a row, but they're still four games ahead of the nearest competitor in the NL Central.

Milwaukee has gone an excellent 13-7 on the road this season, but it's not going to be easy at all against a fellow division leader in Atlanta. The Braves are 13-8 at home and will send out Mike Minor, who looks like he's starting to find his form.

The Brewers have Wily Peralta (4-2, 2.05 ERA) going and he's been something special, but it doesn't matter in Jeff's mind. He'll take on some small chalk and side with Atlanta to secure the victory on the money-line.

MLB Pick: Braves -128

Chicago White Sox (Carroll) vs. Kansas City Royals (Vargas)
Covered by Steven Suarez
It's been a great couple of weeks for the Royals, who are fighting their way back into contention in the division. They need to keep winning in order to stay with the red-hot Tigers.

With Jason Vargas pitching the way he is, you have to figure Kansas City will be in a great position for a ninth win in 13 games tonight. Vargas is 4-1 with a 3.00 ERA on the season and has been especially good over his last two appearances.

Like Willie's play in the Angels/Astros game, I'll be recommending taking the home team on the run-line. Kansas City is simply playing the better baseball right now and it certainly doesn't hurt that they have the pitching edge here too.

MLB Pick: Royals -1.5 (+135)
