Sunday Night Baseball was a disaster for all of us, and Michael Wacha. Kris Bryant tore into the young Cardinals righty and our play on Addison Russell also struck out. However, while we’re down in a very manageable hole, and with many more props to choose from tonight, it’s time to get back on the horse and take some shots at Bovada’s player props.

George Springer O/U 2 ½ runs, hits and RBI

George Springer and the Astros are in Philadelphia on Monday night and while Vince Velasquez was pretty good in his return from the disabled list, his matchup against the Astros tonight is a very tough one and for this reason, it stands out for our MLB picks tonight.

After a day off on Sunday other than a pinch-hit performance, Springer will likely return to the starting lineup refreshed and ready to score a lot of runs for the Astros tonight. Houston has a 4 ½ total for runs in this one and their implied total is hovering around five at some predictions models.

If the Astros can bang out five runs tonight, I can almost guarantee Springer will be crossing the plate on at least one or two of those. So, with that logic in mind, as long as he can collect one or two hits, we are golden here.

As long as Springer can avoid getting struck out tonight, his road wOBA is actually better than his home stats. Philadelphia is a pretty nice park to hit in for a team like Houston and if Velasquez isn’t locked in to begin the game, we could see Springer cash this one within his first few at bats.

My Free MLB Prop Pick: OVER 2 ½ (-110) @ Bovada

San Diego Padres O/U 2 ½ runs

We got burned by tailing a hot pitcher last night, but Jacob DeGrom is on another level from Wacha of the Cards. DeGrom has been nasty this summer. Other than coughing up four runs to St. Louis earlier this month, (a game he still won) DeGrom has allowed one run or fewer in seven of his last eight starts.

Now he is in San Diego, against one of the worst offenses in the league and I could see a blood bath of strikeouts here tonight. While his strikeout numbers have been all over the place lately, the Padres offense gives you zero hope of scoring three or more runs tonight against this Mets’ righty.

The Padres have just a .305 team wOBA against right-handers this season already and against one of the game’s best righties isn’t going to make that number go up tonight. They are only averaging about 3.4 runs per game against righties this season and at home they are hitting a league-worst .236. I’m hoping to ride the Mets’ horse to the Padres staying under 2 ½ runs tonight with favorable, positive betting odds.

My MLB Prop Pick: UNDER 2 ½ (+120) @ Bovada
