On Friday, the energized Royals return to KC from a road trip to face the Twins in Game 1 of a huge divisional series which will see two pretty decent pitchers in Ervin Santana (10-4) and Jason Vargas (11-4) dueling.

Odds Overview

Minnesota Twins at Kansas City Royals (FS-North, FS-Kansas City, DTV 672, 8:15 pm ET): Two AL Central teams in a similar spot, the second-place Twins (40-37) and the third-place Royals (38-39), start a 4-game series at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City on Friday night with Game 1 and Offshore sportsbooks have southpaw Jason Vargas and Kansas City -117 favorites ( with the Total at 8½ ith the Run Line market seeing the Royals -1½ +175 with RHP Ervin Santana and the Twins +1½ -205 (BetOnline). In Game 1 of a DH on Saturday (2:15 pm ET), KC is scheduled to throw Jason Hammel with Minnesota starting Jose Berrios with Eric Skoglund set to go in the second game of the DH (8:35 pm ET) and the Twins still undecided. In Sunday’s Game 4 (2:15 pm ET), Matt Strahm is slate to start for KC with Hector Santiago scheduled to get the pill for Minnesota.

Minnesota Twins

The Twins (80/1 to win World Series, Heritage) and Manager Paul Molitor are a team to keep your eye on with Minnesota (9/1 to win AL Central, William Hill) seemingly hanging in the drift of the defending AL champion Indians (41-36) in the AL Central. At Boston on Thursday in Game 4 of a 4-game series -- in which the Twinkies had scored only 6 Runs at Fenway -- Minnesota's (24-11 on Road) Starting Lineup was: 2B Dozier, RF Grossman, 1B Mauer, DH Sanó, 3B Escobar, SS Polanco, RF Kepler, C Gimenez, CF Buxton with Kyle Gibson getting the start against Boston's David Price (BOS -206, 10, JustBet). The Red Sox won 6-3, rallying from a 3-0 deficit.

Miguel Sanó and Minnesota (20/1 to win AL, Bovada) are an amazing 25-11 on the Run Line on the Road, 5-1 L6 vs. AL Central, 8-2 L10 Fridays and 22-8 L30 Road games -- something solid teams in Sports learn to try to do consistently -- and an impressive 8-1 OL9 meetings in this AL West series. Most Totals Trends strongly point to the Under here which is 5-0 L5 Minnesota games vs. AL Central, 7-1 L8 on Grass, Overall and on Fridays and 15-5-2 L22 Santana Series Game 1 starts.

Kansas City Royals

Manager Ned Yost and the Royals (250/1 to win World Series, 5Dimes) have been playing decent Baseball of late (6-5 L11), but need to keep the recent surge upward going and get over the .500 mark and permanently into the AL Central race. Perhaps the arrival of a new Breville Express Espresso machine purchased by Royals 38-year-old Reliever Peter Moylan will help. Moylan also serves as club barista and makes a rally-inducing beverage called “The Sledge-latto,” espresso blended with chocolate milk and served on ice. So the Angels had the Rally Monkey and the Royals have a hurler who makes mocha. And the World turns. On Thursday against the Tigers at Comerica Park in Detroit on getaway day, KC (21-18 at Home), the Royals employed a Starting Lineup of: 2B Torres, RF Bonifacio, CF Cain, 1B Hosmer, C Pérez, 3B Moustakas, DH Soler, SS Escobar, LF Gordon with Jake Junis starting. The Tigers won 7-3.

Lorenzo Cain and the Royals (20/1 to win AL, Bovada) are 12-4 L16 overall and on Grass, 4-1 L5 Fridays , 17-5 L22 Vargas Home Starts and 20-7 his L27 Starts overall. The Under is 10-2 L12 Vargas Homes Starts and 17-5 his L22 Starts overall.

Kansas City Weather & Series Trends

TWC forecast for Kansas City on Friday night currently calls for Partly Cloudy skies with a Low near 65° with 5-10 NW Winds, so ideal conditions as the Royals (21-18 at Home) return home to their $600 espresso machine. The Twins are 8-21 L29 Starts by Santana (2.80 ERA) following a Quality Start his last appearance and the northpaw comes in ridding a 2-game Winning Streak, allowing 9 Hits in a Win against the Tribe in his last Start. The Royals’ Jason Vargas (2.29 ERA) will be shooting for a career-high 12th Win here and is coming of a nice outing vs. the Blue Jays where he won and allowed two solo HRs in 7.0 IP. Vargas will have to try to be careful with veteran Joe Mauer who is hitting .379 with 8 RBI while Eric Hosmer has been the best Kansas City player at the plate against RHP Sanatana (.300/2 Home Runs/7 RBI).

Although the Over is 6-1-2 L9 meetings in this AL West series, with Santana having not allowed a Run in 7 of his 16 Starts so far this season and pitching well, the Under 4-0 his L4 Road Starts at Kansas City and the Twins the third-best Under Totals team in MLB (54.9%), backing the Total Under here at 8½ (-115, seems the logical pick with the Royals (6-1 L7 Vargas Stars vs. MIN) and Twins (3-9 L12 at KC) both having to Travel on Thursday night and there two aces on the mound in Game 1.

Predicted Final  Score: Royals 3, Twins 2MLB Free Pick: 'Under' 8.5 (-105)Best Line Offered: BetCris
