It’s the final day of the regular season, and our MLB capper  shares his two top totals picks. Don't miss this betting preview highlighting totals for  the Cardinals vs. Braves & A’s vs. Mariners.

Cardinals (Lackey) vs. Braves (Miller) 12:10 PM ET
John Lackey has made a strong case to be the Cardinals opening game starter come playoff time. He’s been in excellent form over his last three starts which is evidenced by a brilliant 0.86 ERA during that stretch. Lackey has also been lights out in his previous three road starts, posting a terrific 1.29 ERA in those outings. St. Louis will be facing a Braves team today that averages only 0.55 errors per game. The Cardinals are 44-24 (64.7%) under the total this season versus an opponent that averages 0.60 or less errors per game.

Shelby Miller has been by far the most tough luck starting pitcher in baseball this season. Despite posting a sparkling 3.15 ERA during 31 starts in 2015, Miller has a horrible 5-17 record. No starting pitcher with a minimum 25 starts this year has received less run support than Miller. The Braves hurler will be facing a Cardinals team which has averaged only 4.0 runs per game this season. Miller is 14-5 (73.7%) under the total this year versus opponents averaging 4.0 runs or less per game. Atlanta has gone under the total in their last four contests, and there was a combined average of only 3.0 runs scored per game.

According to current MLB betting odds, Pinnacle provides me with the best option regarding this wager.

MLB Pick: Play on the Cardinals & Braves under 7.0 (-105) at Pinnacle

A’s (Bassitt) vs. Mariners (Nuno) 3:05 PM ET
Chris Bassitt has displayed horrible form during his previous three starts evidenced by his massive 10.64 ERA, 2.55 WHIP, and all three games went over the total. Bassitt has made two starts versus Seattle this season, posted a lofty 5.40 ERA, and terrible 1.80 WHIP. Oakland has gone 9-1-1 over the total in its last eleven games.

Vidal Nuno has seen each of his last three starts go over the total. Nuno was a major contributor to those high scoring affairs, compiling a large 8.53 ERA and 1.90 WHIP in those outings. The Seattle hurler has allowed an alarming 11 home runs in 45 1/3 innings pitched this season.

I like this game to produce plenty of runs, and one of my MLB picks today will echo that sentiment.

MLB Pick: Play on the A’s & Mariners over 8.0 (-110) at BetOnline
