Our resident MLB handicapping professional shares his two top totals picks on Saturday night’s card. Be sure to read this betting preview article before making your MLB picks today.

Orioles (Chen) vs. Rays (Ramirez) 6:10 PM ET
Southpaw Wei-Yin Chen has made five starts against Baltimore this season, posting a lofty 4.94 ERA, and surrendered 8 home runs in just 27 1/3 innings pitched. Chen has seen each of his last four starts go over the total, and had a sizable 5.40 ERA in those outings. Baltimore has hit a whopping 155 home runs in 104 games this season when facing a right-handed starting pitcher like they’ll be doing today. They’ve also gone 6-2 over the total in their previous eight games.

Erasmo Ramirez made two starts since 7/24/15 against Baltimore, and compiled an awful 7.84 ERA. Ramirez has allowed 6 home runs in 28.0 innings during his previous five starts. The Rays have gone 22-14 over the total at home this year versus opponents with a losing record. They’ve also smacked 56 home runs in 45 games this year when facing a southpaw starting pitcher.

The slated home plate umpire for today’s game is Dale Scott. Games have gone 17-7 over the total this season when Scott is calling balls and strikes. I like this game to be a high scoring affair for one of my MLB picks today.

MLB Pick: Play on the Orioles and Rays Over 7.5 (+109) at Pinnacle.

Royals (Volquez) vs.Tigers (Boyd) 7:08 PM ET
Edinson Volquez has displayed bad form in his previous three starts, posting a 7.20 ERA and 1.67 WHIP. Volquez has made two starts against Kansas City since 8/12/15, and had a large 9.90 ERA and 1.90 WHIP. Kansas City is 6-2 over the total in their previous eight games.

It’s amazing that Matt Boyd remains in the Tigers starting pitching rotation. Boyd has a terrible 7.93 ERA in nine starts, including a massive 10.50 ERA during his previous three. Boyd made two starts versus Kansas City since 8/10/15, and had a mammoth 12.80 ERA. He’s also allowed a whopping 12 home runs in just 42 2/3 innings pitched this year. Detroit has gone 50-27 (64.9%) over the total this season as a money line underdog of +100 or more. The Tigers have also seen just one of their previous nine games go under the total.

MLB Pick: Play on the Tigers and Royals Over 8.5 (-125) at The Greek.
