We have some brand new matchups as its the start of a new week in the MLB. This is a perfect opportunity to capitalize when making our player prop betting picks.

Total Hits, Runs, + RBI's For Chase Utley
Over 1.5 -115
Under 1.5 -115
I haven't seen a prop like this before. Usually the prop is listed at 2.5 but Chase Utley has been hitting so poorly, odds makers have lowered the number and my first inclination is to still take the under. This was a once very good baseball player that's hitting below The Mendoza Line and simply embarrassing himself. Utley will also have to face Michael Pineda, a pitcher that doesn't walk anyone.

Utley is 3 or his last 32 at bats. Do we need to go any further?

MLB Pick: Under 1.5

Total Strikeouts For Michael Pineda
Over 6 -115
Under 6 -115
Pineda get's the perfect matchup in a weak Philadelphia Phillies lineup in which Ben Revere is the best player. We already know that Ryan Howard is a strikeout machine. Pineda, as a pitcher, is a strikeout machine as he has 87 strikeouts in 81 innings. 6 is a very low total here considering the opponent.

MLB Pick: Over 6 -115

Will Maikel Franco Record a Hit?
Yes -200
I'm going to stick with this game and Franco isn't getting much respect here. He's had 3 consecutive games of multiple hits. In those 3 games, he's 7 for 13. The only thing that scares me is Pineda pitching, but I don't see Franco going hitless.

MLB Pick: Yes -200

Total Strikeouts For Drew Hutchinson
Over 5 +120
Under 5 -150
I'm loving the under on this prop as Hutchinson is a pitcher that does better at home and he's facing the Rays on the road at Tropicana Field. Let's also take into account that he's had 5 strikeouts or less in his last 5 outings. He's capable of going over, but not likely and the betting odds indicate this and I agree.

MLB Pick: Under 5 -150

Total Strikeouts For Clayton Kershaw
Over 9- EV
Under 9 -130
This is a very high total as the Dodgers travel east on a road trip. Kershaw, as I mentioned in another article, hasn't been the same pitcher this season, but in my opinion, is still the best pitcher that the Major Leagues has to offer.

In his last 4 out of 5 outings, he's had 10 or more strikeouts. The only problem that I have with this trend is that he has barely eclipsed the betting prop total as 11 was his high and in two of those game, he recorded 10 strikeouts. I'm going to side with the best, who has proven to hit double-digits on a regular basis. Let's take the over and receive the favorable MLB betting odds.

MLB Pick: Over 9 -EV
