Jordan Zimmermann has never lost to the Milwaukee Brewers in his career, which provides the Washington Nationals a major edge Tuesday night at Miller Park. Let’s take a closer look at the MLB betting lines for this National League matchup, with the first pitch scheduled for 8:10 p.m. ET.

Warming up
Washington has put together a 13-8 record this month, which includes a current three-game winning streak—picking up a 3-0 shutout victory over Milwaukee as +126 road underdogs Monday.

The Nationals are certainly capable of taking the second game of this series, considering outfielder Jayson Werth is 14 for 20 in his last six games at this ballpark, while Adam LaRoche is a career .346 hitter versus tonight’s opposing starter.

MLB handicappers will find that the club is 5-3 after blanking opponents during the 2014 campaign.

Solid stretch
Milwaukee has won seven of its last 10 games, hitting .270 at the plate and average 5.97 runs over that span.

The Brewers rank fourth in the Majors in plating 351 runners this season, but they’ll have a hard time generating offense in this affair, with outfielder Carlos Gomez possessing a .187 career average versus the Nationals.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the franchise is a money burning 27-33 at home with a money line of -100 to -125, with virtually no edge in terms of the betting total (29-28-3 Over/Under).

Nationals starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann (5-4, 2.95 ERA) has suffered a loss in back-to-back efforts, including a 3-0 setback at home to the Atlanta Braves last time out—surrendering two runs and seven hits over seven innings of work.

The right-hander is 3-2 with a 2.57 ERA in six road appearances, as he’s issued just five walks and struck out 39 batters in 42 combined frames.

In four career starts versus the Brewers, Zimmerman has produced a perfect 4-0 record and 2.19 ERA.

Brewers starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo (5-4, 3.34 ERA) has led the squad to three consecutive victories, including a 4-1 road win over the Arizona Diamondbacks last Thursday.

The right-hander is 2-2 with a 3.62 ERA in eight home appearances, with opposing hitters batting .236 against him.

In nine lifetime efforts versus the Nationals, Gallardo has produced a 3-3 mark and 6.15 ERA.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Nationals as one of their MLB betting picks, as they’ve captured seven of Zimmermann’s last 10 starts away from the nation’s capital.
