The Oakland Athletics cashed a second straight ticket against the New York Yankees, with Wednesday’s 5-2 victory as a 112 home favorite.

Thursday afternoon’s MLB betting has Bob Melvin’s club looking for a sweep, with Oakland’s Jarrod Parker (5-6, 4.68 ERA) facing New York’s Hiroki Kuroda (6-5, 2.84 ERA) in a duel of right-handed starters.

A’s, Moss top Yankees

Athletics first baseman Brandon Moss drilled two homers in Wednesday’s win, uniting with leadoff man John Jaso to drive in the team’s five runs. Oakland’s Grant Balfour logged a second save in the series, holding the Yankees to one hit in the final frame.

Yankees infielders Mark Teixeira and Jayson Nix logged one RBI each, while Ichiro Suzuki finished with a 2-for-4 night. New York’s Travis Hafner and Vernon Wells both went 0-for-4, while the contest’s combined seven runs ducked UNDER the ‘total’ of 7 ½.

Parker stingy in Chicago

Parker came away with a third straight win in Friday’s 4-3 victory for Oakland as a 121 road dog against the Chicago White Sox. The 24-year-old allowed two earned runs over seven innings, holding the White Sox to five hits.

Athletics third baseman Josh Donaldson cracked a grand-slam homer in the sixth frame, erasing an early 3-0 deficit for his club. Oakland’s Josh Reddick finished 2-for-4, while Ryan Cook and Grant Balfour logged a hold and save, respectively.

Kuroda continues road slide

Kuroda logged his third loss in four starts on the same night of action, with New York losing as 180 road ‘chalk’ to the Seattle Mariners, 4-1. The Osaka native gave up all four of Seattle’s runs, allowing eight hits over 6 1/3 innings.

Yankees mates Brett Gardner and Kevin Youkilis each poked one double, uniting to hit 2-for-7. New York’s Travis Hafner drove in his side’s sole run from the cleanup spot, while Mark Teixeira and Vernon Wells were both held to 0-for-4 nights.

Back the UNDER in Oakland

Parker opened as a 115 home favorite at William Hill, while the ‘total’ was first set at 7 ½ (UNDER minus 120). Oakland’s Coco Crisp (.289 BA) and Yoenis Cespedes (13 HRs, 35 RBIs) are listed as “questionable” with a leg and hamstring injuries, respectively.

I am adding a ticket on the UNDER for Thursday’s sports picks, looking for another tight contest between these foes.

Parker has settled down at home, holding rivals to three runs over his last 20 1/3 IP. The UNDER has went 2-1 in that span, while going 7-0 in the Athletics’ last seven home dates against right-handed starters.

Kuroda tossed eight frames of shutout ball in last May’s trip to Oakland, giving up just four hits. UNDER backers have collected at a 5-1 clip in New York’s last six road duels against listed righties, while going 4-0 in the team’s last four matchups that followed a spot of giving up five runs or more.

Umpire C.B. Bucknor has seen the UNDER cash at 4-2 in his last six called games, while Wednesday’s battle between these foes moved the UNDER to 5-2 in their last seven meetings in Oakland. Look for another low octane affair here, with UNDER backers collecting again.

Baseball Pick: UNDER 7 ½ at William Hill
