Free MLB picks for a few of Wednesday's biggest baseball matchups. Where do we believe that the best edge lies for MLB bettors tonight?

Major League Baseball is in full swing today, as there are games taking place all day long. A lot of aces are scheduled to take the mound, and we should see plenty of duels going down. Lets breakdown a few of the matchups and decide if there is any great value on offer for our MLB picks today.

Check out our Wednesday Morning MLB Odds & Betting Lines Report.

Toronto Blue Jays (24-34) vs. San Francisco Giants (31-27)

A former ace in R.A. Dickey (4-7, 5.18) is involved in inter-league play as he faces Barry Zito (4-3, 3.88) and the San Francisco Giants. Due to the lack of success from his unpredictable knuckle-ball, Dickey has been an insta-fade and it’s been successful.

He’s coming off of two really crummy outings, allowing a combined 12 runs and 20 hits in 12 2/3 innings against the Braves and Orioles. If you like Dickey in this game, you’ll definitely get Toronto at a great price. Can R.A. come through with a dazzling performance in a league in which he’s had major success?

I’m sure that the Giants think of Barry Zito as overpriced, but I like to consider him a decent major league pitcher being that I’m not paying him.

He looked like he was going to be a superstar with the Oakland Athletics, then hit bottom after “getting paid”, and is now a fairly good pitcher on a team that’s known for their pitching, which resulted in a championship.

Zito’s problem is his inconsistency; one game he looks like Cy Young and the next game he looks like Anthony Young (a pitcher for the Mets in the early 90’s that lost over 20 consecutive ball games pitched). As always with Zito, “Which Barry Zito shows up here?”

Melky’s Back

Melky Cabrera faces his old team and would like to forget about the fiasco that he endured and put himself through last season. In last night’s game, the Jays lost 2-1, but Cabrera went 2 for 4. Toronto has a solid offensive lineup with the combination of Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion. They can definitely be a factor in this game.

Encarnacion hit a home run yesterday and is a career 5 for 9 off of Zito with 2 HR and 9 RBI!!! Zito must pitch around “EE” or this game can turn in Toronto’s favor quickly.

I thought that the MLB odds would offer us a better price, but look for Dickey to pitch well against a National League team that’s not a great hitting team.

Pick- Toronto +105 at Bet 365

Colorado Rockies (31-28) at Cincinnati Reds (36-23)

After a 5-4 loss to Colorado yesterday, the Reds have a chance to bounce back in a lopsided pitching matchup in which they start Johnny Cueto (3-0, 2.17). Cueto has been nothing short of sensational in his limited time this season.

In his last 2 starts, Cueto has only allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 15 innings. His last outing was an amazing 1 hitter in 8 innings against Pittsburgh.

Cueto faces a much tougher lineup with the likes of Carlos Gonzalez, Troy Tulowitzki, and Michael Cuddyer. This Rockies lineup is very productive, but the Reds have a tough offense in their own right and good pitching wins games.

Carlos Gonzalez can change the outcome of the game on any swing of the bat. He’s hitting .306 on the season with 14 HR, 36 RBI, and 12 SB. This is a 5-tool player that’s super productive. He also has scored 46 runs on the season through 59 games.

Cargo is familiar with Johnny Cueto and has had a decent amount of success in limited time. He’s a lifetime 4 for 10 with 1 HR and 6 RBI’s against the Dominican Republic native. He’s a fantasy league favorite and Cargo could be a factor if Johnny isn’t at his best.

This is a matchup of two teams with good offenses.

I haven’t been on the heavy favorites as of late, but Cueto has been “on point”. Look for Cincinnati to beat Colorado with Cueto as the deciding factor.

Good Luck, everyone!
