We look over some of the day's biggest pitching matchup, hoping to find a solid edge before placing our MLB picks.

Matt Garza has been outstanding on the mound recently, as he prepares to make a return to the American League versus the New York Yankees.

Let’s take a closer look at MLB betting odds surrounding seven starting pitchers on Wednesday’s card.

Be sure to check out our Wednesday MLB Betting Lines & Odds Report.

Matt Garza, Texas Rangers (8-3, +703)

The right-hander is slated to make his team debut, as he was acquired from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for four players Monday. He hasn’t pitched since a 6-4 home victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on July 13.

In six starts since June 16, Garza has compiled a perfect 5-0 record and 1.24 ERA—the lowest ERA of any MLB pitcher with more than 31 innings over that span.

Ian Kennedy, Arizona Diamondbacks (7-12, -559)

He’ll be looking to snap a personal three-game losing streak, which includes a 2-0 road defeat to the San Francisco Giants last time out, while the offense has supplied him with just two runs of support over that span.

In seven career starts versus the Cubs, Ian Kennedy has compiled a 3-2 record and 6.65 ERA, including wins in his last two home starts in the series.

Francisco Liriano, Pittsburgh Pirates (9-4, +491)

The left-hander had his four-game winning streak snapped last time out, as he suffered a 5-3 road loss to the Cincinnati Reds, as he prepares to face the Washington Nationals for the first time in his career.

Against every other team other than the Reds, Liriano has tallied a 9-1 record and 1.95 ERA.

Kyle Lohse, Milwaukee Brewers (9-11, -236)

The right-hander is 5-1 with a 2.63 ERA over his last 10 starts, which includes a 2-0 home victory over the Miami Marlins last time out, as he allowed five hits over six shutout frames.

In 10 career games versus the San Diego Padres, Lohse has produced an even 4-4 record and 4.69 ERA, including a 7-1 road victory on April 22.

Andy Pettitte, New York Yankees (9-8, -125)

The left-hander had a two-game winning streak snapped last time out, as he suffered a 4-2 road defeat to the Boston Red Sox, allowing four runs and six hits over 6.1 innings of work.

In 24 career starts versus the Rangers, Pettitte has gone 11-10 with a 4.21 ERA, but he’s lost seven of his last 10 decisions in the series (4.48 ERA).

Stephen Strasburg, Washington Nationals (7-12, -1080)

The club has dropped four of his last five outings, as he didn’t earn a decision in a 3-2 home defeat to the Los Angeles Dodgers last time out, allowing two runs and seven hits over seven frames.

In three lifetime appearances versus the Pirates, Strasburg has tallied a perfect 2-0 record and 3.15 ERA, as he’s struck out 35 batters in 20 combined frames.

Jered Weaver, Los Angeles Angels (7-5, +115)

The right-hander has won three of his last four starts, which has allowed him to improve to 14-2 in July since the start of the 2011 campaign.

In 13 career starts versus the Minnesota Twins, Jered Weaver has gone 7-2 with a 3.58 ERA, including a no-hitter in his last home start in the series on May 2, 2012.
