Rangers (Holland) vs. Rays (Archer)

Covered by Willie Bee

Derek Holland's fortunes have been drastically different on the road – he's 7-3 in 16 starts outside of Arlington and 2-6 in 14 starts at home, despite a difference in earned run average of just 0.37.

That said, Holland is 1-5 with a 4.26 ERA since the All-Star break and comes up against a Tampa Bay team that sends out Chris Archer, who is 5-3 with a 2.67 ERA at home this season. Willie will be taking the ‘Over’ 7 runs for his sports picks here in game three of the series.

Orioles (Chen) vs. Red Sox (Peavy)

Covered by Joe Freda

It hasn't mattered if he's been pitching at Fenway or U.S. Cellular Field: Jake Peavy has been excellent in front of the home fans. He's 7-0 with a 2.59 ERA at home in 2013.

Peavy will make his first appearance against Baltimore of the season, whereas Wei-Yin Chen faces Boston for the third time. Chen has been hit hard for 13 hits and 11 earned runs in 10.0 innings against the Red Sox this year, part of the reason Joe likes the ‘Over’ 8.5 runs tonight.

 Indians (Salazar) vs. Royals (Chen)

Covered by Willie Bee

The battle of two playoff hopefuls continues, with Kansas City and Cleveland each winning a game in the series so far. Tonight we have Bruce Chen and Danny Salazar pitching.

There's no doubt Salazar has nasty stuff, but he's still having trouble keeping his pitch count low, which certainly isn't good against Kansas City. The Royals have a solid veteran in Chen on the mound and then have one of the best bullpens in the majors to count on. Still, Willie is picking Cleveland at -101 in the MLB odds to keep momentum high with a win.

Yankees (Hughes) vs. Blue Jays (Happ)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Runs were scarce in game one yesterday, but it wouldn't be earth-shattering if they end up being the name of the game tonight. After all, J.A. Happ and Phil Hughes have been suffering through disastrous seasons.

Happ owns a 5.15 ERA and 1.53 WHIP and Hughes has recorded a 5.07 ERA and 1.43 WHIP thus far. So, even with a high total of nine runs, Ron has no qualms about recommending the ‘Over’, which is actually available at plus money (+110) if you act fast.

Padres (Ross) vs. Pirates (Morton)

Covered by Ron Patrick

We'll find out soon enough what kind of character Tyson Ross shows after failing to even get out of the first inning in his latest start against Philadelphia. He gave up five hits and six earned runs, with his ERA rising from 2.79 to 3.29.

The Padres will try to hit Charlie Morton hard, but it won't be easy. Morton is 6-2 with a 3.70 ERA over the second half of the season and owns a 3.15 ERA in eight home starts. With his MLB picks for the day, Ron thinks the ‘Under’ (7) represents the best value.

 Dodgers (Fife) vs. Diamondbacks (McCarthy)

Covered by Joe Freda

Clayton Kershaw was originally scheduled to start tonight's game, but the Dodgers want to keep their ace fresh and have therefore moved the left-hander's next appearance back to Saturday. In his place Stephen Fife will start.

Meanwhile, Brandon McCarthy, who's 2-4 with a 3.86 ERA at home this season, will pitch for Arizona. Apparently total plays are the way to go tonight, as Joe is once again recommending one, only this time on the ‘Under’ 9 runs.

Morning Odds

Rangers (Holland) vs Rays (Archer)

Covered by Willie Bee

The Rangers finally broke their losing streak last night and hope to add another win with Derek Holland on the mound. However, it's Chris Archer and the Rays (-130) that are favorites.

Orioles (Chen) vs. Red Sox (Peavy)

Covered by Joe Freda

Two straight victories has put Baltimore right back in the Wild Card conversation, but can they get the best of Jake Peavy at Fenway? The Red Sox have gone 50-26 at home and find themselves at -150 to win tonight.

Indians (Salazar) vs. Royals (Chen)

Covered by Willie Bee

A win last night kept Cleveland within a half-game of both Tampa Bay and Texas in the standings. It's going to be tough against savvy veteran Bruce Chen though, and the MLB odds have Kansas City at -115.

Yankees (Hughes) vs. Blue Jays (Happ)

Covered by Ron Patrick

If you're in the playoff race, now's really not the time to lose four consecutive games. The Yankees have done just that though and could very well lose their fifth with a shaky Phil Hughes on the hill. The lines are even, with both teams at -110, so where will Ron decide to place his MLB picks?

Padres (Ross) vs. Pirates (Morton)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Tyson Ross was beaten up badly in his most recent start, but we expect him to fare better tonight. San Diego has been playing well, but Charlie Morton and the Pirates are penciled in as -155 chalk here at home.

Dodgers (Fife) vs. Diamondbacks (McCarthy)

Covered by Joe Freda

There was a time where this matchup would have meant something in the standings, but as it stands the Dodgers are a whopping 10.5 games ahead of the Diamondbacks in the NL West. Nonetheless, Arizona is the favorite at home at a price of about -125.
