It's time for us to find out where our MLB handicappers believes the best value picks lay hidden in today's slate.

Red Sox (Doubront) vs. Giants (Zito)

Covered by Swingin' Johnson

It's going to be hard to gauge value on either side here considering the two pitchers that will be on the mound. Barry Zito was sent to the bullpen for performing so poorly but makes the start this afternoon, while Felix Doubront has allowed 14 hits and nine earned runs over his last two starts.

Clearly you don't want to have too much faith in either of these guys right now, so perhaps gravitating towards the total is the better option. Swingin' Johnson is doing just that, but he was able to find a line of 7.5, which is a much more intriguing number than the even 8 that is being tossed around now.

Twins (Correia) vs. Tigers (Sanchez)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Simply put, Anibal Sanchez has been a stud for the Tigers lately, especially when pitching at home. He's gone 7-2 with a  1.98 ERA in nine starts at Comerica Park and takes a 4-1 record and 1.54 ERA over the second half of the season into tonight's outing versus Minnesota.

The Twins will lean on Kevin Correia, who's 3-7 with a 6.10 ERA in 12 road starts on the year, though he did hold the Tigers to only two runs over seven innings already once this season. That doesn't matter in Ron's eyes though, as he's liking Detroit on the run-line (-110) for tonight's home game.

Dodgers (Greinke) vs. Marlins (Eovaldi)

Covered by Willie Bee

The Dodgers continue to churn out wins like it's nobody's business and you have to love their chances of adding another victory to their tally tonight against Miami. Zack Greinke starts for L.A. and Nate Eovaldi will be on the hill for the Marlins.

After shaky months in May and June, Greinke has really looked locked in out there, going 3-1 with a 2.63 ERA in July and taking a 0.90 earned run average through three August starts into tonight. His recent dominance on the mound is a key reason why Willie is siding with the Dodgers on the run-line.

Pirates (Cole) vs. Padres (Kennedy)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Gerrit Cole hasn't been dominant since getting called up, but he's given the Pirates plenty of solid innings and helped keep that rotation stable. Five days ago he allowed five hits and two runs in six innings of a 6-2 home win over Arizona.

This evening he gets a crack at the Padres, who will look to Ian Kennedy to provide them with some decent innings. Kennedy was tagged for seven hits and five runs in 4 and 2/3 innings in his latest appearance. Ron believes the value is on Pittsburgh here at a price of -130 or so at the sportsbooks.

[gameodds]3/241687/?r3=349/dec&r-1=349/us[/gameodds]

Astros (Bedard) vs. Rangers (Holland)

Covered by Willie Bee

So Erik Bedard hasn't picked up a winning decision since late June, while Derek Holland has only allowed three earned runs over his last three starts, a span of 21 innings. Holland's ERA crept under 3.00 for the first time since early June with a dominating performance versus Seattle last week.

Bedard has gone 1-7 with a 5.95 ERA out on the road this season, so are we really that flabbergasted to see the Rangers favored so heavily? Nonetheless, Willie sees the value on the OVER 8.5 runs in this MLB betting spot.

Wednesday Morning Odds Report

Red Sox (Doubront) vs. Giants (Zito)

Covered by Swingin' Johnson

Another year, another tight race in the AL East. Felix Doubront needs a good outing against the Giants, with Barry Zito set to make his return to the rotation this afternoon.

The MLB betting lines have been released and we find the Red Sox favored on the road.

Twins (Correia) vs. Tigers (Sanchez)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Mike Pelfrey was solid in Minnesota's 6-3 win last night – what will Kevin Correia have in store for us in game two of the series tonight?

The Tigers are the clear-cut favorites with Anibal Sanchez set to take the bump, and they can be added to your MLB picks for the hefty price of -250.

Dodgers (Greinke) vs. Marlins (Eovaldi)

Covered by Willie Bee

Well, we all knew that losing streak wouldn't last very long. The Dodgers got back on track with a win last night and will look to go up 2-1 in the series tonight.

With Zack Greinke sporting a 2.03 ERA in six starts after the All-Star break, you've got to like the chances of another L.A. here. The Dodgers are -170 favorites on the road.

Pirates (Cole) vs. Padres (Kennedy)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Another big win for the Pirates last night has kept them in the driver's seat in the NL Central. They'll have rookie Gerrit Cole on the mound, with Ian Kennedy set to go for San Diego.

A glance over the baseball odds shows the Padres as +125 underdogs at home. You can find the Pirates at -130.

Astros (Bedard) vs. Rangers (Holland)

Covered by Willie Bee

The Rangers have been playing very good baseball recently and they should continue to rack up the wins here at home against those poor Astros.

Derek Holland, who's allowed just three earned runs over 21.0 innings so far in August, will be on the bump for Texas, who are locked in at -280 to win this game.
