MLB picks ready for viewing. Are you in agreement with our baseball handicappers?

Angels (Weaver) vs. Yankees (Nova)

Covered by Willie Bee

Jered Weaver's post-All Star Break numbers are pretty spectacular. He's gone 4-0 with a 1.49 ERA, with 32 strikeouts against eight walks, and batters have hit a paltry .185 against him in those five starts. In short, New York's not going to be dropping 14 runs on the board tonight.

Let's not forget about Ivan Nova either. Dude has been so good, he's lowered his earned run average from 6.11 to 2.93 in just over 10 weeks time and he's struck out 23 over his last three assignments. Nova has been a great source of innings for New York, no doubt about it.

Willie's OVER pick was an easy winner yesterday, but tonight he's changing paths by picking L.A. to cover as small road underdogs. It's hard not to like Weaver at a MLB odds price of +115.

Pirates (Liriano) vs. Cardinals (Miller)

Covered by Ron Patrick

We're very interested to see how Francisco Liriano fares after getting absolutely hammered in his recent start at Coors Field. His overall numbers for the season are still excellent.

It's also going to be worth watching Shelby Miller and how that balky elbow holds up. He was taken out of his latest outing as a precaution but apparently is ready to go against Andrew McCutchen and the Pirates tonight.

St. Louis won in walkoff fashion last night – tonight Ron is picking Pittsburgh at +110 to return the favor with a win, as the Cardinals have been having some trouble against lefties this season.

Phillies (Lannan) vs. Braves (Beachy)

Covered by Willie Bee

The rich keep getting richer. The Braves were already killing it, and now it appears as if Brandon Beachy has found his groove again, which only bolsters their rotation even further.

Opposite Beachy will be John Lannan, who hasn't reached the sixth inning in either of his two latest starts – he's allowed 13 hits and 10 earned runs in 9 and 1/3 innings of work during that span, resulting in his ERA raising to 4.81.

Beachy may have looked masterful against Philadelphia last week, but he's not had the best of luck against this team in the past. With Lannan not inspiring much confidence overall, Willie has opted for the OVER 8 runs at one of his MLB picks.

Mets (Gee) vs. Dodgers (Capuano)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Hyun-Jin Ryu out-dueled Matt Harvey last night and now it's turn for Chris Capuano to try and do the same to Dillon Gee. Gee has been very solid over the last few months, but he's still just 4-5 with a 5.43 ERA on the road this season.

Then there's Capuano, whose inconsistency has been maddening. The southpaw is 2-4 with a 6.10 ERA (opposing batting average of .317) in eight starts at Dodger Stadium on the year.

Ron notes that New York, despite disappointing overall, hasn't been too shabby whatsoever against lefties this season. He's getting pulled towards a value play on the visiting Mets tonight, who are priced at nearly +175.

Biggest ML Favorites

Tampa Bay Rays (-280) vs. Seattle Mariners

Oakland Athletics (-260) vs. Houston Astros

Texas Rangers (-240) vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Atlanta Braves (-230) vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Kansas City Royals (-230) vs. Miami Marlins

Los Angeles Dodgers (-190) vs. New York Mets

Wednesday's Morning Odds Report

Angels (Weaver) vs. Yankees (Nova)

Covered by Willie Bee

With the way Ivan Nova's been pitching, this game is likely to turn into a pitchers' duel. Both Nova and Jered Weaver have sub-3.00 ERAs on the season.

Nova's resurgence as a legitimate starter leads to the Yankees being favored at -125 for tonight's game at Yankee Stadium.

Pirates (Liriano) vs. Cardinals (Miller)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Something had to give for Francisco Liriano. He had been simply too amazing, but things came crashing down in his latest start, in which he allowed 10 earned runs.

Will he get back on track in a tough assignment versus St. Louis? The Cardinals call on Shelby Miller, who's hoping his bruised elbow won't affect him too much. The hosts are favored at -125, but who are we willing to back with our MLB picks?

Phillies (Lannan) vs. Braves (Beachy)

Covered by Willie Bee

Brandon Beachy continues to get better and better since his return. He pitched eight innings of shutout ball in his latest start and now gets another relatively easy opponent at home against Philadelphia.

The Phillies' John Lannan is 3-5 with a 4.81 ERA and 1.45 WHIP on the season, so it's no wonder the Braves are humungous -230 favorites.

Mets (Gee) vs. Dodgers (Capuano)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Not quite Harvey/Ryu, but Chris Capuano and Dillon Gee have both had their highlights this season. Gee, though, has a 1.88 ERA through four starts after the All-Star Break and has been the more reliable of the two.

If the Dodgers can get the best of Matt Harvey, you have to like their chances of finding a way to hit Gee. The MLB odds have L.A. listed as -175 chalk.
