Interesting fact entering Monday's Major League Baseball action in that no team in the league is on a winning or losing streak longer than four games. That feels unusual. Here are my top three totals picks with Heritage MLB odds for the night.

New York Mets vs. Chicago Cubs (Total Of 7.5 On MLB Odds)
This game is nationally televised by ESPN and will have live betting at sportsbooks. The Mets have really owned the Cubs of late, winning eight straight. They swept Chicago four games in last year's NL Championship Series and then four games at Citi Field from June 30-July 3. Chicago took all seven regular-season meetings in 2015. The Cubs were really scuffling entering the All-Star break as they had a stretch of 24 games in 24 days, but they took two of three over the weekend from visiting Texas, the AL West leader.

The Cubs were hoping to get back leadoff man and center fielder Dexter Fowler from his DL stint (hamstring) on Friday but he wasn't able to go and is back on a rehab assignment. The Mets came out of the break taking two of three in Philadelphia. Chicago starts All-Star lefty Jon Lester (9-4, 3.01) in this one. He had perhaps the worst start of his career on July 3 at the Mets, allowing eight runs and nine hits (three homers) in just 1.1 innings. It was the shortest start in Lester's career. The Mets set season highs with 14 runs and 22 hits.

New York's Curtis Granderson is a career .304 hitter off Lester with three homers and 15 strikeouts in 46 at-bats. Jose Reyes is just 3-for-25 off Lester. New York goes with lefty Steven Matz (7-5, 3.38). He took a no-decision vs. the Cubs on June 30, allowing three runs and seven hits over 5.1 innings. Matz hasn't personally won since May 25. Kris Bryant is 1-for-3 career off him with a homer and two RBIs. Javier Baez is 2-for-3 off him with a homer.

Free MLB Pick: 'Under.' It is 4-1 in Matz's past five starts. It's 4-0 in Lester's past four at home vs. teams with a winning record.

Cleveland Indians vs. Kansas City Royals (8 In MLB Betting)
Cleveland has lost starting catcher Yan Gomes for a while to a separated shoulder. He was injured after an awkward fall at first base on Sunday. Gomes stepped awkwardly on first base against the Twins as he tried to avoid the swipe tag of first baseman Kennys Vargas, who was pulled off the bag on the throw from Eduardo Nunez. Gomes was 1-for-2 Sunday to raise his season average to .165. He had been on an 0-for-27 streak. Here the Tribe start All-Star Corey Kluber (9-8, 3.61) on the mound. It was Kluber's first All-Star appearance even though he won the Cy Young in 2014.

In his final start before the break, Kluber allowed a run and five hits over eight innings in a victory over the Yankees. Kluber has made two starts this year vs. the Royals and is 1-1 with a 4.09 ERA. He has struck out 13 in 11 innings. All-Star Game MVP Eric Hosmer is 13-for-45 career off him with six doubles, three homers and 13 RBIs. Alex Gordon is just 6-for-32 off Kluber with 13 strikeouts. The Royals counter with Edinson Volquez (8-8, 4.85). He beat the Mariners in his final pre-break start, allowing three runs in six innings. Volquez is 1-2 with a 5.09 ERA in three starts this year against the Tribe. Jason Kipnis is 7-for-19 career off him with three doubles and a homer. Carlos Santana is 3-for-18 with two homers.

Free MLB Pick: 'Under.' It is 10-4-1 in Volquez's past 15 at home. It's 5-2-1 in Cleveland's past eight away from home.

Chicago White Sox vs. Seattle Mariners (7.5 For MLB Picks)
The White Sox currently have the longest losing streak in baseball at four straight. They scored just one total run in being swept three games at the Angels over the weekend to fall back below .500. Here, the White Sox go with All-Star lefty Chris Sale, who started for the American League in last Tuesday's game in San Diego. Sale (14-3, 3.38) didn't pitch well in his final start before the break, allowing a season-high eight runs along with 10 hits (three homers) over five innings in a loss to Atlanta. He hasn't faced the Mariners this season.

All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano is 6-for-19 career off  Sale with three doubles and six strikeouts. Nelson Cruz is 7-for-16 off him with two homers and four RBIs. Kyle Seager is 1-for-10. The Mariners counter with lefty Wade LeBlanc (1-0, 3.52). He has made three big-league starts this year. He took the lost last time out on July 6 in Houston, allowing five runs in 3.1 innings. LeBlanc has pitched four innings of relief in his career against the White Sox, with no hits or runs allowed. Melky Cabrera is 1-for-3 off him. Todd Frazier is 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.

Free MLB Pick: 'Under.' It is 4-1-1 in Sale's past six on Monday. The 'under' is 5-1 in Seattle's past six against a lefty.
