Coming off of an easy undefeated day, let's keep the momentum going. Here are our MLB Picks of the Day with some in-depth analysis.

Seattle Mariners vs Los Angeles Angels
Keep Fading the Halos
When a team loses 11 straight games, it doesn't happen by accident. We sided with Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners yesterday as the Mariners won 3-2 and there's no reason to stop fading the Los Angeles Angels (49-69), who have destroyed any chances of making the playoffs as they reside in the basement of the American League West Division. This is a team with some talent, but it's just not clicking and they're facing teams like the Mariners who are hungry for a post season berth.

Los Angeles' Finest?
If starting pitcher, Jhoulys Chacin (3-8, 5.84 ERA) is the best pitcher that the Angels have to offer, it's just indicative of how poor a baseball team that they are.

Chacin hasn't been a starter for the entire season and is coming off of a real pounding in a 14-4 loss against the Cleveland Indians in which he allowed 7 runs on 6 hits in 1 1/3 innings. Chacin has given up a ton of hits, walks, and home runs in his 98 2/3 inning pitched this season and will have a tough time in this game facing the likes of Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz. Let's also not forget that while Mike Trout saved face with a home run last night, he and Albert Pujols have not been in major slumps as of late. The Angels desperately need their top two hitters to produce.

"Cruising Along"
He'll always have that stigma attached to him of being a PED guy, but Nelson Cruz produces consistently and the Seattle Mariners have benefited greatly from Cruz being on the squad. With a home run yesterday, he's reached the 30 home run mark to go along with 74 RBI and a 286 BA. In his last 24 at-bats, Cruz has been red hot with 10 hits, a double, a triple, 3 HR and 4 RBI. Needless to say, Jhoulys Chacin who had held Cruz hitless in 4 career at-bats, will need to proceed with caution.

Los Angeles has given the bettor no reason to back them. Take Seattle as your MLB pick at Pinnacle.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. San Francisco Giants
Leading the Division By Default
It's not as if the Los Angeles Dodgers are playing outstanding baseball, but the San Francisco Giants (66-52) who had the best record in the majors before the All-Star Break, have the worst record after the break at 9-19. The Giants are just 1/2 game ahead of the Dodgers in the National League West Division and if not for all of the teams in this division losing, San Francisco wouldn't be in 1st place. They need a win badly as they send out the ever so inconsistent Jeff Samardzija (10-8, 4.23 ERA) in a tough matchup against Pittsburgh Pirates starter, Jameson Taillon (3-2, 2.84 ERA).

Reason For San Francisco To Worry
It's not as if the Giants are a powerhouse offensively with a lot of slightly above average hitters, led by Brandon Belt and his ability to get on base with a base hit or via the walk, but the Giants will be facing a pitcher in Taillon, who has been very consistent and coming off of an outstanding performance.

In Taillon's last 6 outings, he's allowed just 8 earned runs in 38 innings pitched. In each of these starts, he's pitched at least 6 innings and has allowed a mere 3 walks. This means no free passes for Brandon Belt , who has a very high on-base percentage. Taillon also has a 2.63 ERA on the road. If he can get the Pittsburgh offense to scratch out a few runs for him, Pittsburgh looks appealing at these odds.

One player that the Pirates will count on is Gregory Polanco. Although hitting just .200 in his last 25 at-bats with 2 HR and 9 RBI, Polanco has had great success against San Francisco. He's 8 for his last 18 at bats with 2 HR and 9 RBI. The Pirates are a team who have talent in Starling Marte and have outscored their opponents 19-8 in their last 2 games. This is a deep team despite a poor season by former NL MVP, Andrew McCutchen. Pittsburgh is the pick in this spot.
