Our expert capper has gone 12-2 during his last seven “MLB Underdog Picks” of the Day articles. Go inside in order to find out what his two best MLB betting values are for Saturday night.

Seattle Mariners (Karns) vs. Houston Astros (Keuchel) 7:10 PM ET
Despite their 6-3 loss at Minute Maid Park last night, Seattle has gone an impressive 12-5 on the road thus far in 2016. Seattle right-hander Nate Karns has made one start in each of the last two seasons versus Houston, and posted a dominating 0.69 ERA during those outings. Karns has also displayed very good form during his last three starts overall, evidenced by a stellar 1.15 WHIP over that stretch.

Dallas Keuchel was one of the top pitchers in baseball a season ago, but that’s hardly been the case in 2016. He’s been especially bad during his previous three starts, posting a large 8.82 WHIP and 2.02 WHIP in those appearances. One of those starts came at Seattle on 4/26, and Keuchel allowed 5 earned runs in 6.0 innings during a 11-1 Astros loss.

Considering Seattle’s record in away games so far, and the recent struggles endured by Houston starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel, I’m siding with the road underdog as one of my Saturday MLB picks. Still not convinced? Read our in-depth breakdown of this game and fatten your wallet tonight!

New York Mets (Colon) vs. San Diego Padres (Shields) 8:40 PM ET
San Diego has gone 4-1 in its last five and 6-2 during their previous eight games. That includes taking the first two of this four game set against the Mets. During those two games, San Diego pitching held New York to a combined 3 runs and 7 hits. Veteran right-hander James Shields will be on the mound for San Diego on Saturday. Shields made two starts versus the Mets a season ago, and compiled a shiny 1.07 WHIP during those outings. The Padres hurler has been solid during his first five starts this year by posting a very respectable 1.28 WHIP. Since 2014, Shields is an excellent 12-1 in his team starts during the month of May.

The Mets bats haven’t only been silent during the first two games of this series, but that’s been the case in its last seven outings. During that seven game stretch, they’ve hit a terrible .195 as a team, and had an awful .279 OBP. Ageless Bartolo Colon gets the starting pitching nod on Saturday. Colon has made three starts versus San Diego since 2014, and had a large 7.36 ERA during those outings.
