With a full slate of baseball matches for bettors to tackle, it helps to have professional handicappers share their top plays. Here we focus on the best value MLB picks on the total runs odds.

San Diego Padres (Morrow) vs. Colorado Rockies (Matzek)
Switching gears, we will be focusing on Colorado's matchup with San Diego at Coors Field. The starting pitchers will be Tyler Matzek for the Rockies and Brandon Morrow for the Padres, who will be looking to make another statement after a dominant win in Denver yesterday.

Jorge De La Rosa struggled from the get go and was forced from the game early, with the Padres racking up 14 runs when everything was said and done. Odrisamer Despaigne picked up the easy win, with San Diego's offense doing all of the damage and putting the game out of reach early.

For game two, the MLB odds show Colorado as a -120 favorite, with the Paders available for backing at +115. The total is what we're interested, however, and that number is currently at 10, the highest number on the board for this busy Tuesday. Keep checking back with SBRodds.com so you know you're getting the best possible number.

Matzek has enjoyed a nice start to his season, surrendering only two earned runs over his first two starts, albeit with those outings spanning just a combined 10 innings. Still, the left hander has been solid, as has San Diego's Morrow, who has logged two quality starts in a row to open up his 2015. He shut down San Francisco over seven shutout innings and then held Arizona to two runs over seven innings (both no decisions), so he seems to be feeling confident. However, facing the Rockies at Coors Field is never easy.

And, while these two starters have shown good things early, we can't help but feel the OVER is the way to go. The OVER was one of the easiest calls of the night yesterday and we saw how one team can simply go off at any given moment. With that said, we're sticking with the same path for Tuesday.

St. Louis Cardinals (Lynn) vs. Washington Nationals (Gonzalez)
We'll have two solid hurlers on the mound in Gio Gonzalez and Lance Lynn when the Nationals and Cardinals meet up in the series opener tonight. Both teams have also been playing well, with St. Louis riding a five-game winning streak and Washington having won four of their last five.

With these two ballclubs playing well, what kind of MLB odds do we see on offer? The Cardinals are actually the small favorites (-115 or so) despite being on the road, while the total is at seven runs as of now.

As we mentioned, St. Louis has been on quite a run, taking two of three at home against Milwaukee and then following up with a three-game sweep of another division rival in Cincinnati. As a result the Cardinals have improved to 8-3 on the season, good for first place in the NL Central. Tonight St. Louis will lean on Lance Lynn, who's looked pretty sharp through his first two starts, having allowed only two earned runs in total.

For Washington, Gio Gonzalez gets the nod and will look to keep the Nationals riding that wave of momentum. They've won four of five, with most of those wins coming at home against the lowly Phillies. Gonzalez, however, hasn't been too good early on in 2015, as he's allowed seven earned runs over 12.1 innings thus far. That's not going to cut it against a strong St. Louis team.

As far as our MLB picks for game one of the series go, we are liking both pitchers to show up with good stuff and help keep this game below the posted total. Take the UNDER seven runs to start off your picks of the day.

MLB Pick: UNDER 7
