Let’s take a closer look at the MLB betting lines for this interleague matchup, with the first pitch scheduled for 10:05 p.m. ET

A pair of left-handers will take the mound at Angel Stadium Thursday night, as the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels continue the 2013 Freeway Series.

The Dodgers continue to be inconsistent on the field, as they’ve split their last 10 games, while suffering a 4-3 defeat to the Angels as +165 road MLB odds underdogs Wednesday.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the club is 16-20 as road underdogs of +125 to +150, including an 0-2 mark during the 2013 campaign.

Things are looking up

The Angels are 8.5 games back of the Texas Rangers in the American League West division, but they’ve compiled a 15-12 record in May, while also welcoming back ace Jered Weaver to the mound last night.

MLB handicappers will find that the club is 31-16 at home versus the Dodgers, with the UNDER going 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings overall.

Dodgers starting pitcher Ted Lilly (0-1, 4.05 ERA) didn’t earn a decision in a 5-3 home victory over the St. Louis Cardinals last time out, as he allowed two runs (one earned) and two hits over 5.1 innings of work.

The left-hander will be making his second start since returning from the 15-day disabled list with a right rib cage injury, while he also tries to build up stamina on the mound after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery.

In 11 career starts versus the Halos, Lilly has compiled a 5-5 record and 4.02 ERA, including a 3-2 mark and 3.81 ERA in five outings at this ballpark.

Let's have a look at the Betting Odds Report~

Angels starting pitcher Jason Vargas (4-3, 3.43 ERA) has led the club to five consecutive victories this month, including a 5-2 road win over the Kansas City Royals last time out, as he allowed two runs and five hits over 7.1 innings.

In three career appearances versus the Dodgers, Vargas has tallied a 1-2 record and 5.03 ERA, surrendering 24 hits in 19.2 combined frames.

The left-hander is a dominating 12-4 with a 2.78 ERA in May since 2009.

I’m going to recommend that readers play the total as one of their MLB picks Thursday, as the UNDER is 24-11-2 in the Angels’ last 37 home games versus a southpaw starter, while the Dodgers have fallen short of the total in five of its last six road contests.
