Thursday’s MLB betting has a pair of early-evening finales on its American League slate, with rubber matches involving some hefty home ‘chalk.’

The New York Yankees host the Seattle Mariners, while the Boston Red Sox wrap up their set with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Which wagers look best to parlay for a bankroll boost going into the night’s later action?

Seattle Mariners at New York Yankees

Seattle evened its set with New York in Wednesday’s 12-2 victory as a 114 underdog, edging out the Yankees in hits, 16-8. Mariners outfielder Raul Ibanez cracked two homers, including a first-inning grand slam.

Thursday’s matchup has Yankees left-hander Andy Pettitte (4-2, 3.83 ERA) facing Mariners righty Aaron Harang (1-4, 7.30). Bet365 opened Petitte as a 168 favorite, while first setting the ‘total’ at 8 ½ with the UNDER at minus 115.

Pettitte notched his first win in four starts with Saturday’s 3-2 victory for New York as a 142 road dog over the Kansas City Royals. The 40-year-old gave up both of Kansas City’s runs on five hits, lasting seven innings.

Harang has been idle since May 7, following a fourth loss in his last five trips to the hill. The 11-year veteran dropped a 4-1 contest for Seattle as a 121 road dog to the Pittsburgh Pirates, giving up two runs over six frames.

I am adding the UNDER in this duel to my night’s MLB picks ticket, looking for the pair of veteran starters to hold serve for their clubs.

New York’s Ichiro Suzuki enters with a 0-for-20 slump, with it unlikely to pick up thanks to a 1-for-16 career mark against Harang. Pettitte has held Raul Ibanez to just one homer in 24 lifetime at-bat’s.

The UNDER is 4-0-1 for New York in its last five contests against righty starters, while the same wager has cashed at an 8-2-3 clip in Seattle’s last 13 spots facing a listed lefty.

MLB Picks: UNDER 8 ½ (-115)

Boston Red Sox at Tampa Bay Rays

Tampa Bay saw a six-game winning streak end with Wednesday’s 9-2 setback as a 123 favorite to Boston. The Red Sox piled up eight runs in the third inning, capped off by a grand-slam homer from shortstop Stephen Drew.

Rays right-hander Alex Cobb (4-2, 3.09 ERA) is slated to start Thursday’s finale against Red Sox southpaw Felix Doubront (3-1, 6.40 ERA). Cobb opened as 150 ‘chalk’ on Bet365’s baseball odds board, while the ‘total’ was first set at 8 ½ (UNDER minus 120).

Cobb picked up a no-decision in Friday’s 6-3 victory for Tampa Bay over the San Diego Padres, collecting as a 176 home favorite. The third-year hurler notched 13 strikeouts, while giving up two homers in 4 2/3 innings.

Doubront’s latest effort came in 5 1/3 innings of relief as part of a May 8 matchup against the Minnesota Twins. The Venezuela native was lit up for six runs on 11 hits, with Boston dropping the duel in a 15-8 defeat.

I am backing the OVER here, looking for both lineups to have some chances. Tampa Bay has hit .300 against left-handed pitching at home, while Boston has logged a .283 BA facing righties on the road.

Rays third baseman Evan Longoria arrives with a nine-game hitting streak, while poking two doubles in six career trips to the plate against Doubront. Boston’s Jacoby Ellsbury and Mike Napoli have a pair of RBIs each in their 12 combined at-bat’s facing Cobb.

The OVER is 16-1 in Tampa Bay’s last 17 contests, with another high-octane affair looming here.

MLB Picks: OVER 8 ½  (+100) at Bet 365
