Here's the lowdown on what's happening with the MLB odds, as we prepare for all of the games to begin. Get your sports picks ready!

Yankees (Kuroda) vs. Rangers (Holland)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Hiroki Kuroda has been a stud for the Yankees this season, but he's a lot shakier on the road, where he's 3-4 with a 3.53 ERA. In his one start against Texas in 2013, he went 6 and 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs in a no decision.

The Rangers counter with Derek Holland, who has gone 2-1 with a 2.93 ERA in four July starts so far. In what will be the series finale, Ron is taking the underdog price on the Yankees (+135) for his MLB picks, feeling as if Kuroda could out-shine Holland this afternoon.

Rays (Hellickson) vs. Red Sox (Lackey)

Covered by Willie Bee

What on earth has gotten into Jeremy Hellickson? The man has been possessed over the last five weeks or so, allowing three or fewer earned runs in six consecutive starts to lower his ERA from 5.67 to 4.62. Hellickson hasn't lost since June 13th.

The righty has also already made two trips to Fenway and has pitched well both times, allowing a combined total of four earned runs in 13 innings of work. Hellickson's good form in Boston has to help Willie feel confident about his play on the 'Under' 9 runs.

Angels (Wilson) vs. Athletics (Straily)

Covered by Willie Bee

Both Dan Straily and C.J. Wilson are throwing the ball well right now. Straily has allowed five earned runs over his past 23 and 2/3 innings, meaning his earned run average has plummeted down to 4.14 for the season.

Wilson has looked completely dominant over his last two assignments, holding the Cubs to one run over seven innings before limiting the Athletics to three hits and no runs five days ago. Considering Wilson has had his fair share of success against Oakland in the past, Willie is taking the Angels at +100.

Phillies (Kendrick) vs. Cardinals (Lynn)

Covered by Joe Freda

After last night's beatdown, how will the Phillies respond? They'll be hoping Kyle Kendrick can recover after getting shelled for nine hits and six runs in his latest start, while the Cardinals need a strong outing from Lance Lynn, who is 7-1 with a 2.81 ERA at home.

We witnessed quite the offensive show from St. Louis yesterday, but Joe doesn't believe we're in for a similar occurrence tonight. He thinks we'll see both pitchers step up to the mark, at least enough for the 'Under' 8 runs to come through at the sportsbooks.

[gameodds]3/240052/?r-1=43-349-192/us[/gameodds]

Tigers (Verlander) vs. White Sox (Peavy)

Covered by Jeff Grant

The Tigers are slowly but surely starting to pull ahead in the AL Central standings. They're now 3.5 games up on Cleveland, in large part due to a four-game winning streak. They'll aim for another win behind Justin Verlander in the Windy City this afternoon.

With Detroit obviously the better and more confident team, Jeff feels comfortable in backing the Tigers despite the -135 chalk.

[gameodds]3/240048/?r-1=43-349-192/us[/gameodds]

Astros (Bedard) vs. Blue Jays (Buehrle)

Covered by Willie Bee

Mark Buehrle and Erik Bedard have both been in the league for a while, but their 2013 results have left a lot to be desired. Buehrle is 5-7 with a 4.83 ERA and 1.40 WHIP and Bedard is 3-7 with a 4.41 ERA and 1.48 WHIP.

Since the Blue Jays have been the coldest team in all of baseball lately, Willie can't see any reason to back the home team here, especially since the other option would be taking the lowly Astros. So, he's going to roll with the 'Under' 9.5 runs.

Morning Odds

The action starts early, so let's help your MLB picks prepared for Thursday's slate of 14 games.

Yankees (Kuroda) vs. Rangers (Holland)

Covered by Ron Patrick

A tremendous debut from Matt Garza led to a win for the Rangers, which kept them three games behind Oakland in the American League West. As for the Yankees, they're now 4-6 over their last 10 games.

We've got an outstanding pitching duel this afternoon between Derek Holland and Hiroki Kuroda. The Rangers have opened as -150 favorites.

Rays (Hellickson) vs. Red Sox (Lackey)

Covered by Willie Bee

The Red Sox were again kept quiet last night, this time against a healthy and in-form David Price, who pitched a complete game while allowing just one run.

Now it's Jeremy Hellickson's turn to try and do some magic, with Boston set to call on John Lackey. The MLB odds have the Red Sox pinned as -135 chalk.

Angels (Wilson) vs. Athletics (Straily)

Covered by Willie Bee

It's time for Oakland to return home, where they'll play host to the Angels in a key divisional series. Tonight's starters will be Dan Straily and C.J. Wilson.

L.A. has hit another poor run of form, losing six of their past ten to put them 11 games back of the Athletics in the division. For this evening, Oakland is a -110 favorite at the sportsbooks.

Phillies (Kendrick) vs. Cardinals (Lynn)

Covered by Joe Freda

The Cardinals didn't hold back yesterday, crushing the Phillies to improve to 31-17 at home and 61-37 overall. Philadelphia, eight games back of Atlanta in the National League East, has now lost four straight.

Though the baseball odds don't reflect it (-165 in favor of St. Louis), this could be the Phillies' best chance of getting a win at Busch. Kyle Kendrick has looked good on the road this season.

Tigers (Verlander) vs. White Sox (Peavy)

Covered by Jeff Grant

Jake Peavy's name continues to circulate in trade discussion but no move has materialized as of yet. He'll start this afternoon's game at home against Justin Verlander and the Tigers.

Detroit will come in favored at a price of -135, with the total staying still at eight runs.
