MLB's slate presents some interesting questions such as "Will Bartolo Colon go deep against Clayton Kershaw?" Let's take a look at this short slate and see if we can get some MLB picks.

I was being a bit playful regarding the Colon question, but people have mentioned movies and his home run is one of the hottest selling "in action" baseball cards. That's getting carried away, but there's always a chance he can slam another dinger.

Houston Astros vs. Boston Red Sox

Keuchel vs. Price
This sure isn't 2015 and Dallas Keuchel isn't winning any Cy Young Awards or will reach the 20 win plateau. The way he's pitching, he would be lucky to reach 10 wins for the season as the Houston Astros are the biggest disappointment along with the Royals this season. Houston has a tremendous amount of firepower with Altuve, Correa, Springer and much more, but their batting statistics don't reflect in their amount of wins. Now, they have to face a Boston Red Sox (21-13) team that's red hot , winning 4 games in a row and David Price gets the start for Boston.

Get the Fire Extinguisher
Boston has been so hot lately that they've outscored their opponents 40-15 in their last 3 games alone. Thats over 13 runs per game and odds makers have the odds slightly low with Dallas Keuchel pitching, thinking that we'll see the old Keuchel. As for David Price, he's been far from stellar at 4-1 with a 6.75 ERA as the Red Sox have provided him with run support. He's coming off of a disappointing loss to the New York Yankees and is looking to get back into the win column and this is a great spot as the Red Sox will never hit as good as they're hitting now again.

If you look at the Red Sox lineup, they have 7 players hitting over .275 and 5 players hitting over .300 with Hanley Ramirez close behind at 297. David Ortiz leads the team with 9 HR, 29 RBI, and a .409 OBP%. This is supposed to be Big Papi's last season at 40 years of age, but maybe he should think again as he's definite all-star. The MLB odds  are right for a bet on the Red Sox and until they stop winning and scoring so many runs, the bettor will always have a reasonable chance backing them as their MLB pick.

San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

A Tale of Two Underachieving Baseball Team
When Zack Greinke made the move to Arizona from Los Angeles, the Diamondbacks were going to be considered instant contenders. Instead, they're a disappointing 17-19 and just 5-12 at home and Greinke is 3-2 with a 5.15 ERA. The crazy thing about it is that Zack Greinke is pitching his best baseball in a Diamondbacks uniform.

Facing Greinke tonight will be Johnny Cueto (4-1, 3.02 ERA) and the 18-18 San Francisco Giants. The only thing could that could be said for the Giants is that the National League West Division is up for grabs as there's no real run away team. The Giants have always based their team on pitching and playing small ball and thus far this season, it's only equated to a .500 record. After managing just 1 run in 3 games against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Giants defeated the Jays 5-4 in their last game in a much needed victory.

Very Small Ball
The Giants have a very deep team, but they lack that one real big bat in the lineup. Hunter Pence, who is having a good season, leads the Giants in homers with just 5, but he has managed to knock in 26 batters in hit .295; now that's small ball. Brandon Belt is another go to guy in ths offense as Buster Posey is off to a slow start. Belt leads the team with a .313 BA and best of all, has an amazing .445 OBP%. A combination of a good eye at the plate and respect from the opposing pitchers has allowed Belt to get on base amost half of the time.

I'm looking at the total in this game of 8 runs. This seems a little high, especially the way that Greinke and Cueto are pitching and what they've been capable of in the past. Under is the play here.
