Last night was a peculiar night, but you take the wins any way that you can get them and that’s just what we did with a 2-0 night while hitting the 2- unit play. Let’s continue the MLB grind while winning more betting picks.

Capper Catalano’s Record
157-133 -8.41 Units

Thanks to Alex Avila and an extra inning home run, we were able to get the win in David Price’s debut as a member of the Detroit Tigers. Thanks to the resiliency of the Los Angeles Dodgers, we were able to pull out the 2-unit victory on Kershaw Night .

The Daily MLB Grind
There are very few people that can back up what they say with total legitimacy, but over the years I’ve been a proven winner in MLB betting picks and this season, I’ve managed to go 42 games over .500 and make up 30 units with mostly one unit plays and an occasional 2 unit play in a period of 2 months and 1 week.

This was all done after a terrible start, which is rare. I hope that bettors have been following my picks. With all of the momentum on my side, now it’s time to go for the jugular with just under 2 months remaining in the season because I smell blood.

Ultimately, this is not about me; this is about the people who can profit from my sports betting picks and I will keep doing my best for you!

Detroit Tigers (62-48) vs. New York Yankees (58-54)

Justin Verlander (10-9, 4.66) is starting to the follow the footsteps of Tim Lincecum. Lincecum had 2 Cy Young Awards consecutively and the bottom dropped out of his career. Now, he’s a slightly better than average pitcher.

Where Verlander is concerned, he was once thought of as the best pitcher in the game. Now, he’s just an average pitcher. “JV” still has about one more season to recapture his reputation, but he’s slipping. Could it be that he’s tired from pitching so many innings or could it be that his attention is focused more on model Kate Upton than baseball? I would have to believe that it’s a confidence thing, but you never know.

A Lopsided Matchup
Tonight, Verlander has a very appealing matchup against a Yankees team who used a lot of pitchers in last night’s game and still lost. Let’s also not forget to mention that the Yanks will be starting Chris Capuano (1-2, 4.50). Just like David Price, Verlander can give the Tigers innings and in Verlander’s last 3 starts, he’s allowed 8 runs in 21 2/3 innings.

You would have to believe that the Tigers are an appealing pick and at great MLB betting odds. Slugger Miguel Cabrera had an off night last night and that doesn’t happen very often. Regardless, the Tigers are an offensive- minded team that ranks 5th in the majors in runs, 2nd in batting average, and 3rd in on-base percentage. Look for Detroit to pick up the “W” tonight.

Chicago Cubs (48-63) at Colorado Rockies (44-68)
A Coors Field Pitching Duel?
For a long time, I was making out like a bandit, taking the over at Coors Field when the Rockies faced an average or subpar pitcher. Things have changed as Troy Tulowitzki has been hurt and it’s widely known that he wants to be traded. We haven’t been seeing those huge over the total games without Tulo in the lineup at Coors.

Tonight, you have a game with 2 very poor teams, but the pitching matchup of Jake Arrieta (6-2, 2.11) vs. Jordan Lyles (5-1, 3.52) is a quite respectable one. Both have pitched very well as of late. My only concern is that Lyles is historically a poor pitcher and he doesn’t go deep into games. Nonetheless, you get that high run total where odds are concerned and this game has under the total written all over it.

The Cubs have won their last 2 games by a combined score of 13-8. Even though they still possess a poor record, they’re a much improved team with the talent of Anthony Rizzo.

This has been Rizzo’s breakout year with 25 HR, 60 RBI, and a .283 BA. Opposing pitchers often walk Rizzo as his .387 OBP% indicates. Chicago needs to surround Rizzo with more talent. Just the same, they should win this game with Arrieta, but I rarely feel confident picking the Cubs. The Rockies on the other hand, are simply a product of Coors Field. When they play on the road, their offensive production drops and they’re simply not a good baseball team.

Don’t go overboard with the amount of money that you bet on this game because nothing is etched in stone. Just take into account that the starting pitching has done well and the betting total is too high.
