Today presents some really good grudge matches and it starts with above average pitchers. See who we think are your best options as we attempt to fill you pockets with profit with our MLB Picks.

Cleveland Indians vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Can Kluber Stop the Bleeding?
Aces not handing their business has been a theme thus far in baseball this season and Corey Kluber (1-3, 4.67) has been one of many who simply haven't done the job. I could see him actually falling apart towards the end of last season and that's cause for concern when the Indians are such a large betting favorite.

The Phillies have exceeded expectations this season at 12-10. Is this a steal of a deal or even worth a shot as the Phillies are at home against the 10-9 Cleveland Indian ? If anything, this is an even matchup at best but the betting odds are leaning towards the Tribe so heavily, this could be a spot to take a risk.

They didn't score a ton of runs, but the Phillies outscored the Washington Nationals 10-3 in a 3-game sweep and to hold the hard-hitting Nats lineup in check is saying something. While the Atlanta Braves have lived up to expectations at 5-17, the Fightin Phils have shocked everyone. There was nobody that thought the Phillies would've had an above .500 record after 22 games.

Odubel Herrera
Flying under the radar is this young player as he's near the top on the Phillies in a most major offensive cateogries. Herrera has a great eye and although his batting average is a respectable .292, his on base percentage is off the chart at .453!

Herrera is always on base and this makes the work for other players much easier as  Herrera also has 14 runs. The next highest player on the team in Freddy Galvis with 9 and after that you would have to go down as far as 6. The only other statistic that I, personally, consider to be important is runs batted in and Herrera is currently sitting at 9. Odubel Herrera has been the leader of this squad and although they have a lot of new names, it doesn't matter as wins are the name of the game.

I'm going to take a calculated risk on the MLB odds because it deserves one and side with the Phillies, who have won 3 consecutive baseball games as our pick.

Washington Nationals vs. St. Louis Cardinals

The Strasburg That Everyone Expected
I've already mentioned how poorly that the Nats played in their 3 game series with the Philadelphia Phillies, but things change on Friday as Stephen Strasburg (3-0, 2.17 ERA ) get's the start against the St. Louis Cardinals and Mike Leake and Strasburg has been lights out while Leake has been unable to get an out at (0-2, 5.64).

I mentioned "stopping the bleeding" in our first game. Stephen Strasburg is in a prime position to do so. He just needs the Nationals anemic offense to squeeze out a few runs as the Cardinals are always a formidable team ;especially at Busch Stadium.

The Mets Loss is the Nats Gain
When Daniel Murphy decided to take the money in Washington, I thought that he would come back down to earth, but he hasn't. Depsite seeing his batting average drop 20 points to .370 after the Phillies series, Murph is still having a stellar season. Everyone focuses on the great Bryce Harper (9 HR, 24 RBI, .314 BA) and they should, but Daniel Murphy has seen his game escalate since coming to the nation's capitol.

As stated, Murphy is batting .370 and leads the Nats with 27 hits, has 44 total bases, which is 2nd to Bryce Harper, and that's still very high for a guy with just 2 homers. Finally Murphy's on base percentage is an amazing .439. Daniel Murphy is earning every penny in Washington and Mike Leake should have his hands full unless the Nationals continue to slump.

The pitching tis the major focus in our MLB pick and the Nationals have no concerns there with Strasburg.
