There's a lot of quality pitching in general and we might not see a lot of scoring in  games today. Check out as we break down a couple of our favorite games on the slate. Free MLB Picks.

Boston Red Sox vs. San Francisco Giants

Madison Bumgarner vs. David Price
We have seen the Boston Red Sox be scoring machine thus far this season as they're currently 34-24. So much, that starter and ace, David Price possesses a record of 7-2 and a 4.88 ERA. While Price has pulled in the wins, this is telling us that he's received a ton of run support. Last night, the Red Sox held their run total under 10 in a 5-3 victory over the Giants in the first game of this series. It was San Francisco's 3rd consecutive loss, but the Giants still hold a 3 game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers for the division lead.

Tonight, Price might have to depend on himself more than his team's offense as Madison Bumgarner (7-2, 1.91 ERA) gets the start for the Giants. The betting total is very low, but this game has the makings for a low scoring game. While 6.5 runs is very low, the Giants offense has been rather weak and you have two of the best starters in the MLB.

An Opportunity For David Price
I mentioned that the San Francisco Giants haven't been playng well and a team with a weak offense is just the type of team that would benefit David Price to face. In their last 8 games, the Giants have scored a total of 28 runs. There were no major outbursts by either team in any of these games and that sits well with the under in ths game as we have two aces starting.

Brandon Belt
Being that Hunter Pence, San Francisco's leading hitter, is going to have surgery, Brandon Belt has had to shoulder a lot of the weight. The Giants best hitter in Buster Posey has had a really poor start to the season after an outstanding year last year. Posey is hitting .257. Think of how good this team would be if Posey was hitting like he had for his entire career.

As for Brandon Belt, he leads the Giants with a .297 batting average, but even more importantly, possesses a .414 OBP%. Getting on base is the name of the game and that sets up his teammates to knock him in. In the last week, Belt is hitting .364 with 1 HR and 3 RBI. That said, he's hitting just .244 at home. The splits look good here as does the under the 6.5 runs in this game for our MLB pick.

New York Mets vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Syndergaard at Favorable Odds
No matter how the Mets have been playing lately, if you have the chance to grab Noah Syndergaard (6-2, 1.91 ERA) pitching at favorable MLB odds against a Pirates pitcher in Jameson Taillon who has never made a pitch in the Major Leagues, you have to like to the Mets here. That said, Syndergaard will need to put up some good numbers and come with some heat as the Mets offense is depleted with injuries and haven't produced. New York has lost 3 straight games by a total of 7-2. David Wright had just started to be the player of old and injuries once again hit the Virginia native. This is a game in which I'm counting on Syndergaard to be the hero more than the offense to show up.

For the record, I don't care how good that Jameson Taillon could be. It's an intimidating feeling going up against the defending National League Champions and the Mets best pitcher at the present time in Noah Syndergaard.

Who Will Step Up?
We know that the Pirates have the superior offense with Gregory Polanco, Starling Marte, and even a struggling Andrew McCutchen. The Mets need to scratch out a few runs and their star hitter in Yoenis Cespedes has really been struggling as of late. His batting average was once .290 and now it's down to a pedestrian .266. In the month of June, Cespedes is hitting just .154 with 0 HR and 0 RBI. New York can't have that as Wright and Duda are out.

Neil Walker has been shouldering the load for the Amazin's with a .278 BA, 13 HR and 25 RBI. He hasn't been as good as Daniel Murphy, but the Mets will gladly accept his bat in the lineup and he's playing against his former team. We could see Walker step up in this game.

Even though New York has had a shortage of runs, I'm still confident in Noah Syndergaard to break the losing streak.
