There's a ton of betting going on, but right now, we're focused on the MLB Picks as this is crunchtime for this sport with just a handful of games remaining in the regular season.

Oakland Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels: Halos Are Playing Like a Playoff Team
If the Los Angeles Angels played like this all season long, they would've clinched a playoff spot a long time ago. Instead, they're playing like a desperate team and it shows.

Los Angeles has amazingly passed the Houston Astros in the standings and are just 2 games behind the Texas Rangers for the division title with just 5 games remaining in the season and are actually 1/2 game ahead of the Astros for the last wild card spot in the American League.

Who would've thought that a month ago? The Angels got hot at the right time and have won 7 games in a row. They can't stop now as they have nothing promised to them and a bunch of teams jammed in with them, trying to get that last wild card spot.

Garrett Richards
A game against the Oakland Athletics is a game that Los Angeles should win. They dominated the A's last night, 8-1 and have have beaten the Athletics 2 games in a row. A win over a weak team like this is mandatory and Garrett Richards is the perfect pitcher to start this game as he gets a chance to help his team into a wild card spot after a bad luck injury at the end of last season that saw all of his hard work wiped away.

Richards isn't a Clayton Kershaw, but he's still considered a star in this league , could've won 20 games last season, and the Angels only need a decent performance out of him as they have been coming up huge lately.

Not Finished Yet
At .241, Albert Pujols' batting average is far from impressive despite putting up good power numbers, but Pujols had a huge game last night, going 3 for 5 with 3 runs scored and an RBI.

In the first game of this series, he went yard. The Angels need Pujols to be that number two guy in the lineup (behind Mike Trout) and when he produces, they win. He's starting to break out of his shell, hitting .304 with, 6 runs, 2 HR and 4 RBI in during the last week. I look for "Fat Albert" along with David Fresses and Erick Aybar to be a major presence in this lineup. Look for the Angels to make it 8 straight wins tonight.

MLB Pick: Angels- 240 at 5Dimes ( MLB odds are huge, but the stakes are huge also huge)

Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees: A Tanaka Tuneup
This New York Yankees will get the top wild card spot in the American League. You can bet on that scenario. In that case, they would play one game at Yankee Stadium to see who advances.

Although their hitting has went South at the wrong time, we know that Masahiro Tanaka will pitch that game in the wild card and he gets a "tune up" tonight" against a Red Sox team that embarrassed the Yankees and "Pinetar Pineda" last night, 10-4.

Invisible Offense
The problem with the Yankees is there offense has been unproductive lately. They have been playing games under 3 hours long because they can't hit. It's either hit a home run or make an out. That somewhat as changed in the Yanks last couple of days as Jacoby Ellsbury and Brett Gardner have finally woken up.

Top of the Order
Ellsbury has hit safely in his last 4 games, going 6 for 16 with 4 runs, 2 doubles, and an RBI. When he plays well, it get's the Yankees offense going. Just as Ellsbury has started to hit, Brett Gardner as shown signs of life as he's hit safely in his last 3 games. Gardner had a 2 hit game yesterday and his defense makes up a lot of runs in the outfield as it did yesterday. Look for this tandem to continue to return to their original form.

I'm expecting a Tanaka-like performance tonight out of the Japanese import as he doesn't want to go into the wild card game on a bad note. Remember, this is a pitcher that won 26 consecutive games in the Japanese League before becoming a Yankee. This is no slight to Boston as guys such as Jackie Bradley Jr. have embarassed the Yankees, but it's time for New York to flex their muscles, as our MLB pick.

MLB Pick: Yankees -178 at 5Dimes
