Are we going to continue riding the teams that have continued to bring us success with their outstanding play? Find out as I provide you in-depth analysis with my MLB Picks of the Day.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees

Out of the Basement
Some of you might have known where I was going with this as I've been riding the Yankees and their 5 game winning streak and at 21-22, they're out of the cellar in the American League East Division and back into the race as they've jumped the Blue Jays  and the Rays in the standings.

Although the MLB odds are appealing in backing the Yankees tonight as they come home from a long West Coast trip, they have to face knuckleballer, R.A. Dickey (2-5, 4.50 ERA) and knuckleballers are unpredictable. One season, Dickey is unhittable with 20 wins and for the other part of his career, he's been a .500 pitcher who has pitched inconsistently because that's the nature of the knuckleball. New York and Nathan Eovaldi must also deal with the Blue Jays offense which contain the "Big 3" in Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista, and Edwin Encarnacion. This game will be a test for the Bombers, who look to extend their winning streak to 6 games.

Toronto has also won 3 out of their last 4 games.

Home Run or Bust
The Blue Jays, who had the best offense in baseball last season, have taken a major dip where batting average is concerned. Their production from their stars is either coming in two methods; the home run or the walk. Josh Donaldson has 11 HR, 24 RBI, and batting a mere .250. Jose Bautista has 10 HR, 34 RBI, a .230 BA, and a .373 OBP%. Edwin Encarnacion has 9 HR, 32 RBI, a .240 BA and is drawing his share of walks. Add in Troy Tulowitzki and his .205 batting average and it's easy to see that the Jays aren't hitting for average and that's a huge reason why they're not as good as they were last season. They also had Ben Revere last season, who was a .300 hitter and is no longer on the team. Look for Toronto to count on the long ball as they face an inconsistent pitcher in Nathan Eovaldi (4-2,4.44 ERA).

The Yankees don't possess a big-time offense as Starlin Castro leads the team with a .276 BA, but their bats are starting to wake up and Carlos Beltran has carried the team, hitting .435 with 1 HR and 9 RBI in the last week alone. Look for New York to continue their winning ways as they're full of confidence after a very rough start to the season.

New York Mets vs. Washington Nationals

Strasburg vs. Harvey-The Rematch
There was no contest in the last meeting and Stephen Strasburg was near perfect and Matt Harvey (3-6, 5.77 ERA) continues to look like he has a "dead arm". The same thing happened to Strasburg after Tommy John Surgery. Before the surgery Strasburg was at elite status and then he couldn't pick up a win and was getting hit hard. Right now, it's Harvey's turn and you can see the dejected look on his face when he's pitching as opposing hitters are hitting .325 against him and he can't buy a win.

At CitiField against the Nats, Harvey allowed 6 earned runs on 8 hits in just 2 2/3 innings. There were questions on whether he was going to even start this game.

The Mets are coming off of a surprising 7-1 victory over the Nats as David Wright, Yoenis Cespedes, and Neil Walker all went deep against Gio Gonzalez and Gonzalez is a pitcher that doesn't allow a lot of home runs.

We don't know what we're going to see from Harvey, but it he pitches poorly, look for manager, Terry Collins, to give him the quick hook. I think this is a good spot and good odds to make the Mets your pick. Bryce Harper has been very quiet and aside from Daniel Murphy, who has calmed down, nobody in the Nationals lineup scares me. It's difficult to fade Strasburg, but being that we're playing with house money, I'm going to make a small play on the Mets as the underdog MLB pick.
