We have just one game for you in the MLB, but it will be a monster game that you won't want to miss as Jake Arrieta looks to prevent the Chicago Cubs from going down 2-0 against the New York Mets.

Chicago Cubs vs. New York Mets

Daniel Murphy
I'm going to keep mentioning this name until Murphy stops hitting home runs. Thus far, he's hit a home run in 3 consecutive games and made a game-saving play last night to end the game.

Murph has been the story for the Mets getting to this point of the season as David Wright has been stuck in a slump and there have been no sign of Lucas Duda. It's the little guys, the Juan Lagares' that have been getting the job done along with the Mets starters and bullpen.

Last night, Matt Harvey got the ovation of a lifetime as he proved that he's for real. Harvey allowed just 2 runs in 7 2/3 innings and left the game after a home run. He was stretched out a little too much, but New York will take it. The Mets also got power from Travis d'arnaud as the catcher smashed the Apple in centerfield to extend the Mets lead. Chicago is in a lot of trouble and we haven't even begun game 2.

Shaking Off His Last Game
Jake Arrieta is going to be the NL CY Young Award Winner and he's been on a major team in the last couple of months, not losing a game. That all came to and end as Arrieta finally let up some runs against the St. Louis Cardinals, allowing 4 runs and 5 hits in 5 2/3 innings. I can't say that I'm surprised because nobody is perfect.

It's how Arrieta bounces back that will be a factor in this series. If he's the unhittable Arrieta, the Cubs will want to get him in there as much as possible. Only time will tell and this should be a great matchup.

Unchartered Territories
Noah Syndergaard gets the start for the Mets. Although Syndergaard has all of the talent in the world, I'm not sure that he's ready for this game as he as lapses where he can give up 4 to 5 hits in a row.

There's no question of his talent, but I have to put a question mark where Syndergaard's performance tonight will land. I put it somewhere in the middle, where the bullpen and veterans such as Curtis Granderson will need to carry this team.

Grandy has had a successful 2015 and it's carried over to the playoffs. He's capable of hitting a home run as he's hit over 40 home runs in a season and he's also capable of playing small ball with his speed.

The Mets offense has only averaged 2 runs in their last 4 games and it's been guys like Grandy, Murph, Lagares and Wilmer Flores that have carried this team with great pitching. David Wright, who is 1 for 19 in the playoffs, must establish his role as team captain and step up. He proved that he can hit after injury during the regular season. It's now or never and Arrieta is waiting to greet him.  Arrieta will pitch well and the only way that the Cubs lose this game is via the bullpen
