With a short slate of games and possible storming in the East Coast in the next couple of days, let's attempt to cap a couple of winners for the betting public as it might be small pickins for the next couple of days in the MLB where being selective is concerned.

Colorado Rockies vs. New York MetsMets Are a Massive Favorite With Jonathan Niese
This tells you that the bottom-feeding Rockies are a terrible baseball team. This is a great spot for the Mets as Niese is coming off of a strong outing in which he allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 7 innings to the Miami Marlins. Actually, Jonathan Niese has been a solid starter this season with a 3.51 ERA despite allowing the opposition to hit.269 off of him.

He should have no problem here as the Mets have won 7 out of their last 10 games and the Troy Tulowitzki trade has appeared to be devastating to the Rockies as Jose Reyes has undeperformed in a Rockies uniform while Tulo has hit a handful of home runs for the Toronto Blue Jays and the Jays are creeping up on the Yankees in the American League East Division and have by far the best offense in baseball.

Tough Time At the Trop
The Mets are coming off of a very disappointing series against the Tampa Bay Rays, a team that they should have dominated. That said, this is a great spot for the Amazins as they play exceptionally well and Curtis Granderson has started to really find his swing. Grandy had a 2 home run game against the Rays and in the month of August, is hitting .306 with 3 HR and 8 RBI. It's possible that Granderson can set the tone in this game and as we know, Yoenis Cespedes adds some depth to the offense.

Yoenis Cespedes
Cespedes is a very difficult player to gauge. He had some rough seasons with Oakland, and had the word potential attached to his name. As a Met, he's definitely done the job, hitting .324 with 5 RBI in 8 games. CitiField is a place that Cespedes feels comfortable as this was the place where he dominated in the home run derby a couple of seasons ago.

As for Colorado, they have a terrible pitching staff, Carlos Gonzalez is very overrated, and this is a team that only goes deep at Coors Field. Look for Jonathan Niese to dismantle the Colorado lineup.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Chicago White SoxWaiting For Sale to Show Up
After getting swept by the Kansas City Royals and going 2-8 in their last 10 games, the Chicago White Sox picked the wrong time to go into a major slump. One of those reasons is the pitching of Chris Sale. Sale is considered one of the top two players on this White Sox team, but this season, he's gotten hit hard. You would think that 9-7 with a 3.52 ERA with 186 strikeouts in 146 innings is a pretty good season, but Sale hasn't come through during crucial moments of games.

In his last 2 starts, Sale has gotten knocked around, allowing 14 runs and 18 hits in his last 10 1/3 innings. With pitching like that, not even Jose Abreu can save the White Sox and Sale was the one person that Chicago has always been able to depend on. The Angels are the better team with power hitting Mike Trout and Albert Pujols and I expect them to roll here as Chicago is on a downward spiral.

MLB Pick- Los Angeles Angels +121 as 2 UNIT PLAY
