After a week of tough breaks, we finished out the week strong with Sunday's MLB picks, gaining 5 units and nearing the +50 unit mark with just over a month remaining in the regular season.

New York Yankees vs. Boston Red SoxA Fierce and Hated Rivalry
I actually wanted to stay off of this game even though I told the betting public if something is working for them to run with it, but the MLB betting odds are just too good to resist. The Yankees come into this game off of a 20 run output against the Atlanta Braves and dominated the Braves in their series as they attempt to keep pace with the Toronto Blue Jays, who are playing just as well.

Boston is almost as bad as Atlanta, the only thing that makes this game different is that these two teams hate each other and it's a rivalry. You don't think that Alex Rodriguez would love to stick it to the Fenway Park crowd that was booing him when Ryan Dempster beaned him with the baseball when he was at his lowest part of his career?

Arod pinch-hitted and got a hit in yesterday's game. If Joe Girardi is smart, he'll realize that this is crunch time and 40 years old or not, he'll implement number 13 back into the lineup because the Boston Red Sox will be up for this game and Ivan Nova has been pitching poorly.

Bottom Half Of the Bomber's Lineup
In a previous article, I mentioned an interview that Chase Headley had about the Yankees bottom half of the lineup stepping up and he and Stephen Drew proceeded to go yard against the Braves. This couldn't come at a better time as Brett Gardner's All-Star season has started to slow down.

Gardy usually has a strong first half of the season and then calms down in the 2nd half. It could be the amount of energy that he exerts. I don't know the reason why. Look for guys such as Headley, Gregorios, and Drew to step up in a spot like this. Rivalry games bring out the best in even the worst teams and Eduardo Rodriguez is a servicable pitcher for the Sox and Nova (5-6, 4.50) has been pitching quite poorly for New York.

Over Or New York?
Ivan Nova is the one concern in this game as he allowed 7 runs on 7 hits in 4 innings against the Houston Astros in his last start. This could be one of those high scoring games that the Red Sox and Yankees usually have. That said. I'd rather choose the much better team at these odds and that's New York.

Cleveland Indians vs. Toronto Blue JaysTop Hitting Team in the Majors
I want to get "off the juice", but Toronto and the Yankees can ill-afford to lose a game if they want to win the division and the Blue Jays have been tearing the cover off of the baseball. Ever since they acquired Troy Tulowitzki, the Jays have been the best team in the majors and Tulo hasn't been hitting all of the home runs.

Most of the homers have been coming from AL MVP candidate, Josh Donaldson and Edwin Encarnacion. Recently, Encarnacion had a 3 HR, 9 RBI game. With David Price (13-4, 2.42) taking the mound, I don't see how a bettor can't love the Jays in this game against the overmatched Cleveland Indians.

Come To Toronto and Dominante
It seems like this is a common theme for guys like Donaldson and Price. Price was a great pitcher in Tampa Bay, didn't live up to expectations in Detroit, and the second that he came to Toronto, has been unhittable. This is a guy that can go out there and throw 120 pitches each and every start and it won't have any effect on him whatsoever.

In his 5 starts with Toronto, David Price has had 5 quality outings, allowing 8 runs in 36 1/3 innings while going 4-0 with 1 no decision. I love the Blue Jays here so much that I'm going to do something that I normally wouldn't do with my MLB picks, and that is take the run line.
