The weather is a little “off and on” around the country, but that won't stop us from providing you with our MLB Picks of the Day For Saturday. Time to make some coin.

Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Angels
Will Hamels Be the Deciding Factor?
I've been picking on the Angels a lot early in the season as they're an awful baseball team with two big-time stars in Mike Trout and Albert Pujols. Something is simply holding this team back.

While the Angels face a tough competitor in Cole Hamels (1-0, 2.57 ERA), Garrett Richards is far from being a slouch himself. Two years ago, Richards, was well on his way to a 20 win season and got injured late in the season. Since then, he's been good, but not the same pitcher. This season, Richards has started off really slow at (0-1, 5.40 ERA) and with the Angels lack of run support, Richards will be hard pressed for a victory tonight.

For the Rangers, they have the right guy on the mound in Cole Hamels. Although I wouldn't put Hamels at elite status, he's on the verge of eing on that superstar level and good pitching is what a team need's to win baseball games. The betting total on the MLB Odds is rather low at 7 and we could see an under here if Richards doesn't “spit the bit”.

A Demoralizing Loss
You know when you lose to a pitcher in A.J. Griffin, who hasn't pitched since 2013 and should have a sufficient amount of rust and are playing at home, you have a problem and the Angels just can't seem to score runs at 1-3.

Except for one close win over the Rangers with a game winning base hit from Albert Pujols, the Halos have given absolutely nothing this season.

At .333 BA in 12 at-bats, Kole Calhoun is the only player to produce for this team. Even the great Mike Trout is just 3 for 15 with 0 HR and 0 RBI. This is not the start that the Halos were looking for and one can't expect much from them against Cole Hamels. I think that Hamels is trustworthy in this spot as the Angels have been abysmal, so I will make them one of tonight's MLB Picks.

Chicago Cubs vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
Back's Against The Wall Already?
I know that I got burned by him in the first game of the season and Zack Greinke is in a tough spot as he faces possibly the best team in baseball in the Chicago Cubs. The positive for Greinke is that he get's to face Kyle Hendricks and not Jake Arrieta. In his first start in a Diamondbacks uniform, Greinke (0-1, 15.75) was beat to a pulp by the Colorado Rockies of all teams as the Rockies hit 3 home runs to go along with 7 runs and 9 hits in just 4 innings of play against Greinke.

Greinke was the 2nd best pitcher in baseball last season, has major offensive support with the D'backs offense andPaul Goldschmidt and basically layed and egg.

Let's not forget that the Cubbies (3-1) have gotten off to a fast start and with guys like Dexter Fowler (1 HR, 4 RBI, .600) and Anthony Rizzo (2 HR, 9 RBI, .333 BA) facing the great Greinke, he could be in trouble again.

I'm going to make this short and sweet. Look for Greinke to bounce back from such a disastrous opening day effort.
