It's the start of a new week and our MLB Picks have been a profit making machine. Let's continue to give the betting public what they want and fill their pockets with winning picks.
Joe C. Record 13-1 +11.63 Units
The Miami Marlins were the only thing standing in the way of a perfect 14-0 record as they lost to the the lowly Philadelphia Phillies. Dee Gordon didn't play and the Marlins really let me down as I went 2-1 for the day including the underdog Yankees over the Boston Red Sox in Sunday Night Baseball. In all, another profitable day and a dream run. Let's see if we can continue the major momentum that we have gained this season.
Los Angeles Dodgers (16-8) at Milwaukee Brewers (7-18): Kershaw Night
Being that we're playing with house money, this is an obvious game to target. I've mentioned that I liked the Dodgers with Dee Gordon, but Gordon has moved on to Miami. This doesn't change the fact that Clayton Kershaw will be starting tonight against a Milwaukee Brewers team which has been one of the biggest disappointments of the early season. That said, Kerhsaw is off to a rather slow start himself at 1-2 with a 3.73. I know that -180 sounds like a lot of juice to lay, but this is still a great situation.
If you look at Kershaw's starts, his team hasn't been giving him the proper run support. In his last 4 out of 5 games, he's went at least 6 innings and allowed 3 runs or less. In those games, he's picked up just one victory. The Dodgers offense will need to step up, as the Brewers have won 2 straight games.
His production has slowed down since the start of the season, but Adrian Gonzalez has been a flatout beast this season with 8 HR, 20 RBI, and a .362 batting average. Gonzo possesses a .406 OBP and is on a modest 4 game winning streak. I expect his bat to heat up again. Although the Dodgers are playing against a Milwaukee offense that contains players like Gomez, Braun, Ramirez, and Lind, Milwaukee has underperformed and this should be an easy game to win on the road with the best pitcher in baseball.
MLB Pick- Los Angeles Dodgers -180 at 5 Dimes
Oakland Athletics (11-15) at Minnesota Twins (13-12): The Twinkies?
I must admit; I rarely ever bet the Minnesota Twins, but how can you not? They're at home, just a -108 betting favorite in Monday's MLB Odds and, are 9-4 at home, and coming off of a 4 game sweep of the Chicago White Sox.
Minnesota is coming off of a 13-3 victory over the Sox in which Brian Dozier had 4 hits and Trevor Plouffe had 5 runs batted in. I was monitoring this game and the Twins were getting hits at will against the opposition when they produced 11 runs in the 3rd and 4th inning of the game. There's only one thing that scares me in tonight's game and that's been the pitching of Phil Hughes. Hughes was the Twins ace in the past, but has gotten off to a very slow start at 0-4 with a 4.55 ERA. I look for a bounce back performance from Hughes as he has great stuff.
The moneyline can't be ignored and I like the moneyline so much in favor of the Twins that I'm going to make it a 2-unit play MLB Pick.
