Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees: Yankees Have Been a "Cash Cow"
I know a lot of you are sick of me selecting Yankee games, but if something is working for you, you run with it until it doesn't work. C.C. Sabathia (4-9, 5.23) gets the start against Mike Pelfrey and we all know what manager, Joe Girardi, wants from C.C. .Girardi would be happy with a solid 5 to 6 innings and the first sign of trouble, he would let Sabathia work out of it. Any other problems from there and he get's the hook. This is not a knock on Sabathia, who has had a good career, but Sabathia has logged a lot of innings and it has caught up with him.
The Yankees have much more incentive to win than Minnesota does as they have a 1 game lead over Toronto in the American League East Division and a 4 game lead over the Baltimore Orioles, who are starting to come on strong, but are facing Jacob deGrom this evening.
In his last 2 starts, Sabathia has kept the Yankees in the game with 2 quality starts. In those starts, he's allowed 3 runs in 12 innings while not giving up a home run. We also have to remember that the Yankees have the 2nd best offense in baseball that can bail him out if there's trouble.
Taylor-Made For Yankee Stadium
Picking up Brian McCann 2 years ago was a genius signing by Hank Steinbrenner as McCann's swing is perfect for Yankee Stadium, which favors left handed hitters who have power.
McCann has come on big as of late. He's coming off of a game in which the Yankees came back to defeat the Twins, 8-7 and in this game, he had 1 HR and 5 RBI. McCann is on a 5 game hitting streak and during this streak, he has 3 HR and 9 RBI. For the season, McCann has 21 HR and 74 RBI. He has picked up several huge hits and is a major reason why the Yankees are on top of the division. I wouldn't be surprised if he another big game tonight and if he doesn't the Yanks have the depth for another win against Minny.

Washington Nationals vs. Colorado Rockies: Zimmerman Looks To Stop the Bleeding
I would love to take the Washington Nationals in this spot, but they have been horrible, losing 5 consecutive game at a time in which they need to keep pace with the Mets and odds makers have made them such a heavy favorite, they're simply not worth it.
I'm going to go back to my personal rule involving Coors Field. If the Rockies face an average pitcher or below, you always take the over no matter how high that it is. If they face a pitcher thats above average, you either stay away from the total or take the under. In this case, Jordan Zimmerman (8-8, 3.34) is above average in my book. He just hasn't received an adequate amount of run support.
Zimmerman has a record of 0-3 in his last 6 starts and the Washington offense hasn't helped him a bit. This is a Nationals team that is sputtering and showing signs of giving up as the Mets pitching staff can't be matched. That said, there's still time in the season for the Nats to turn it around, but I don't see it coming easy. They're coming off of a 4 game sweep at the hands of the San Francisco Giants and were outscoered 28-12. I can defintiely see Bryce Harper (30 HR, 73 RBI, .328) jacking a couple of baseball in Coors Field, but he's just one player and the betting total is quite high.
Used To Losing
The Rockies are a bottom-feeder and are coming off of a 5-0 win on their home field, but they're an unreliable baseball team to back with MLB picks. Carlos Gonzalez has had the hot hand as of late and has gotten his average up to .270 along with 27 HR and 67 RBi. There' plenty of offense on this Rockies team in Charlie Blackmon and Nolan Arenado, but look for Jordan Zimmerman to keep the Rockies in check in this game as Washington is in desperation mode.
