We have some really competitive matchups today as you have some elite teams going at it in a preview of what might be to come in the post-season. See who we like as our betting picks for this Sunday.

Washington Nationals vs. New York Mets

Good Pitching Wins Games
The New York Mets can get out of this huge series with a sweep. They have the big 3 of Harvey,deGrom, and Syndergaard as they face the National League East Division leading Washington Nationals. It just proves that come playoff time, the Mets could due some real damage as their is in a class by itself.

Although Syndergaard (5-5, 2.70) hasn't played long enough to be considered an ace, he takes the mound in the limelight of Sunday Night Baseball and could give the Mets a real psychlogical edge over the Nats with another one of his patented great performances.

Complete and Utter Dominance
Syundergaard is really establishing himself as a dominant performer in the middle of the season. Since June 26th, he's pitched a total of 42 innings and has allowed just 6 runs. He's only allowed 2 runs once and that was his worst performance during this period of time. Of course, with the Mets offense, you have to worry about run support, but they've added Yoenis Cespedes to the lineup and Cespedes should add a pop and let's not forget the run that Lucas Duda is on.

What the Mets Originally Expected
In his last 7 games, Duda has 6 HR and 8 RBI thanks to two mutliple home run games and has batted .389 during this time. This is what the Mets originally expected from the powerful first baseman.

Duda is coming off of a 2 home runs, 3 RBI performance and is hitting .316 against the Nats. In reality, he has dominated at CitiField. For the season Duda has hit a very respectable .292 with 17 HR and 39 RBI at CitiField this season. If he continues to play the way that he's been playing lately, the Mets will be a very tough team to beat. Make the Mets you MLB pick for Sunday Night.

Cleveland Indians vs. Oakland Athletics

Two Bottom-Feeders
Surprisingly, the Oakland Athletics have had a disappointing season, but a matchup against the equal pitiful Tribe (48-55) is a very winnable game as Sonny Gray (11-4, 2.16 ) takes the mound for Oakland against Trevor Bauer for Cleveland.

Cleveland is not a very powerful hitting ball club and Oakland defintiely has the advantage in their home ball park, where it's difficult to hit the ball out and there's tons of room in foul ground on each side of the first and third baseline. This makes it easier for the defense and Sonny Gray is definitely the story in this game.

Ace On a Last Place Team
Now,Gray knows what it's like to be Felix Hernandez as he's taken care of business, but his offense and the rest of the team hasn't performed during clutch situations.

He's coming off of a complete game 3 hitter in which he struck out 9 batters against the division leading Los Angeles Dodgers. Gray has already had a complete game 2 hit victory against Cleveland this season and has a 2.84 ERA at home. If the A's can scratch out a couple of runs for the right-hander, Oakland (46-59) should have no problem in taking care of business.

Brett Lawrie
Although Josh Reddick is the star of this squad, Brett Lawrie has come on strong as of late as he's 6 for his last 19 with 2 doubles, 1 HR and 5 RBI. I recall a recent game against the Dodgers in which Lawrie dominated, therefore the ability is there. Take Oakland in this game of two disappointing teams.
