It's a shame that the All-Star Break has arrived because our MLB Picks have caught fire and momentum is a key ingredient in winning where handicapping is concerned.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Better Late Than Never
The Milwaukee Brewers offense has really caught fire as of late and they're starting to play like the Brewers of last year. Last night, Carlos Gomez had a huge game in a 7-1 victory over the Dodgers. Gomez is the catalyst that makes this team effective and yesterday he drove in 5 runs off of extra base hits.

He's the heart of the team, That said Gomez can also create bad blood as there were words between he and Yasiel Puig. Bottom line is when Gomez plays well and shows emotion, the Brewers are a much better basebal club and they'll attempt to carry that passion into this afternoon's game against the Dodgers.

Sunday's Starting Pitchers
Brett Anderson is the pitcher to focus on as he's pitched very well this season with a 5-5 mark and a 3.12 ERA. His team has somewhat short-changed him in the run support department.

From June 21st to July 1st, Anderson had 3 consecutive starts in which he allowed just 1 run in each game and picked up 3 consecutive wins. In his last game, he pitched poorly, allowing 3 earned runs and 6 hits in 5 innings as he lost to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Despite his overall good season, I expect the Dodgers to be limping into this game. Their offense is weak despite Adrian Gonzalez and Joc Pederson and the Brewers have great depth in their lineup with players such as Parra, Lucroy, Braun, Gomez, and Ramirez. The Brewers have one of the deepest offenses in the Major Leagues and they make for a great value play today.

Sunday Night Baseball: St. Louis Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Arch Enemies
These are the two teams that it always comes down to in the end when the division is a stake and the Cardinals always get 1st place and Pittsburgh has to settle for a Wild Card Spot.

We're probably going to see the same thing again this season, but in the meanwhile, we have games that will be played and I'm providing a pick on the last game before the break for those of you who want to add to your bankroll or are chasing after losing. Pittsburgh is a substantial betting favorite in this game as Francisco Liriano (5-6, 2.99) gets the start in this game against Tim Cooney for the Cards.

It's safe to say that Pittsburgh has the edge with home field advantage and Liriano taking the rubber tonight,Pittsburgh has also taken 2 out of 3 games from St. Louis and they have done it in dramatic fashion as Andrew McCutchen hit a walk-off home run in the 14th inning last night to give the Bucs the victory over the Cards. McCutchen hit it flush and it was a no-doubter.

Little Man, Big Numbers
Offensively, McCutchen is the player to watch in this game as he's a 5-tool player and the best player in this game. He's has a great glove, great speed, and good power for a small guy.For the season, he's hitting .300 with 12 HR and 56 RBI. McCutchen is also currently on a 12 game hitting streak. This is a player that has a near .400 OBP% and always give Pittsburgh a chance to win.

His numbers aren't as big as some others, but you need to take into account the high level of his overall game and he comes up with clutch hits. I can't see Pittsburgh losing tonight after last night's win and it will be a good spring board for them as they enter the 2nd half of the season. Make Pittsburgh your MLB pick in this matchup.
