Most of the MLB games are night games on this Saturday and we're focused on two in particular that we think that the betting public can benefit from. Here are your MLB Picks of the Day for May 14th.

Deroit Tigers vs. Baltimore Orioles

The O's Are On Fire
Aside from leading the American League East Division with a 22-12 record, the Baltimore Orioles have won 6 games in a row. You know things are falling just right for the Orioles when Adam Jones scores the only run of a pitcher's duel as Chris Tillman and Justin Verlander battle. Adam Jones has always been one of the Orioles best players, but this season he's really struggled, hitting .248 and displaying a lack of power. If he can return to his old form, Baltimore will be a tough team to beat with their great amount of depth.

Right now, this Orioles offense revolves around Manny Machado's power and ability to get on base (.405 OBP%) and everyone else's ability to display there power as Mark Trumbo is starting to tail off a bit, hitting .305. That's not to say that Trumbo isn't a "main cog" to this Orioles offense as he has 11 HR and 27 RBI and still has the ability to draw walks.

The Orioles just can't rely on guys like Crush Davis to reach base on a consistent basis as he has a tendency to strike out, but on the positive side, he can hit the ball out of the ball park, especially at Camden Yards. Davis, who once hit over 50 home runs in a season, can change the complexion of a game with one swing of the bat and being that Baltimore is a bit inconsistent although still winning baseball club, .254 is actually a good batting average for Chris Davis in a lineup such as this.

Is Miggy Slowing Down?
I'm referring to the best hitter in baseball in the last decade in the MLB in Miguel Cabrera and it appears from his numbers in the last couple of seasons that Cabrera is losing a bit of his power and this season is off to a slow start at 4 HR, 16 RBI, and a .280 BA. Victor Martinez has taken some of the pressure off of Cabrera by regaining the touch from 2 seasons ago and is one of the main threats on this Tigers squad, sporting a .358 batting average with 5 HR and 20 RBI.

Look for Martinez and Cabrera along with Nick Castellanos to both still lead the way regardless. The only thing that has changed is the Tigers pitching. They don't have a pitching staff such as the Mets that will lead them to a World Series title. Justin Verlander might have pitched well last night, but he's not the same Cy Young Award winner that he was in the past.

I look for this to be a competitive game, but the Orioles excel at Camden Yards and they have a ton of momentum and are solid favorites on the MLB odds.

Atlanta Braves vs. Kansas City Royals

The Defending Champs vs. The Worst Team In Baseball
Even though this is the case, the Kansas City Royals are just 17-18 on the season and have relied on  Eric Hosmer (6 HR, 16 RBI, .338 BA) to shoulder the load offensively. Just the same, if you can get a matchup such as this at Kaufman Stadium, anything under -200 is worth your money.

Lorenzo Cain
In order for the Royals to return to their championship form, they need good pitching and they need their other superstar, Lorenzo Cain, to hit well. It does appear that Cain is starting to find his stroke as he's torn the cover off of the baseball in the last week.

He's 11 for his last 28 at bats with 3 HR and 8 RBI. This will make a huge difference in this lineup. Cain has hit safely in 8 straight games and this is a confident player with immense talent. Once a player has succeeded and been the main part of a World Series Title, their confidence is enormous and that's the case for both Cain and Eric Hosmer.

It's not going to take much to take care of the Braves tonight as Dillon Gee (0-0, 2.61), a former New York Met that will give a respectable effort, squares off against Mike Foltynewicz (0-1, 5.06 ERA). Foltynewicz had a decent outing in his last start against Arizona, but I wouldn't be too worried as he's allowed opponents to his .308 off of him for his career. Make the Royals your MLB pick.
