The MLB has had more big trades going on than ever before. Teams are doing anything to get to the top. Will this play a role with our Picks of the Day? Let's take a look as the Capper looks to make his followers a tidy profit.

Washington Nationals vs. New York Mets

The Mets Pitching Staff Is Elite
This is so important as the Mets look to tighten up their offense with players like Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson. Uribe has already paid dividends and he's really just a clubhouse man.

When you have so many arms in the rotation, it gives you flexibility. So much, that the Mets can offer a bonafide star such as Kyle Wheeler in a trade. As long as New York has the trio of Matt Harvey, Noah Syndergaard and Jacob deGrom, they can compete with any team in a playoff series. The goal is to get to the playoffs and the Mets are starting one of the best in the business tonight in Matt Harvey.

Appealing Odds
I know that Washington is a very tough competitior with bashers such as possible MVP, Bryce Harper, but when a bettor gets Matt Harvey at a price of -118, they have to take it as good pitching wins games. It's pure mathematics that a hitter is only a successful 30 percent of the time to be considered a good hitter. A good pitcher controls the game and when Matt Harvey is at his best, he's more important to the Mets than Bryce Harper is to the Nats.

For the season, Harvey is 9-7 with a 3.16 ERA. It has taken Harvey time to get back into the swing of things. So much that Jacob deGrom has taken over as the ace as  of the pitching staff asHarvey pitches after having Tommy John Surgery. That said, when Harvey is at his best, he is the most imposing pitcher on the Mets pitching staff. Not only that; he's been an offensive threat and this will be too much for the Nationals to overcome. Take the Mets with your MLB picks as the slight betting favorite as the odds should be higher.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Clayton Kershaw vs...the other Los Angeles Team
As good as the Angels have been, winning a World Series in 2002 and possessing the best offensive player in baseball in Mike Trout, Los Angeles is Clayton Kershaw's town.

When Kershaw 8-6 ,2.51) is at his best, there's nobody better; not even Matt Harvey. There have been a lot of injuries going around where pitchers are concerned and Kershaw is coming off of a scratch. He'll be ready to go and will need to be at his best as Mike Trout (31 HR, 64 RBI .312 BA) is back in the lineup for the Halos. Trout had missed a couple of games due to injury, but expect Trout to also be ready to go as a matchup against Clayton Kershaw is the best matchup that a baseball fan can see. The Dodgers will have home field advantage, but I'm sure there will be a ton of support for Trout in L.A. This is a true "Clash of the Titans"

In the month of July, Mike Trout is hitting .347 with 11 HR and 21 RBI. He's also 8 for his last 15 at bats with 3 HR and 7 RBI. We take it a step further and Trout is 2 for 3 against Kershaw with a double. I don't look for Kershaw to pitch around Trout as this is a test to see who's the best?

Beastmode
Clayton Kershaw has nearly been unhittable lately. In his last 3 games, he hasn't allowed a run in 26 innings pitched while striking out 38 batters. We take it a step further and in his last 40 innings, Kershaw has only alllowed 2 earned runs. A bettor must go with the Dodgers in this matchup as Kershaw is purely dominant.
