There's lot's of early MLB games on this Sunday, but a lot of surprisingly decent pitching matchups. Let's sift through the later games and find the best ones to choose from in looking to make a hefty profit.

New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Matz vs. Bolsinger
The Los Angeles Dodgers don't have the most attractive lineup offensively, but all they do is win. This is due in part to possessing some of the best pitching in the Major Leagues. As for the Mets, they also have top-flight pitching and very little offense, but their pitching isn't as experienced as the Dodgers and that's the basic difference between these two teams.

This afternoon, the Dodgers will get their first look at Steven Matz (1-0, 2.35) and except for allowing a home run to Brandon Phillips, who was the first batter that he ever faced in the majors, Matz lived up to expectations. He does get the advantage of not having to go against Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke and the bettor can get Matz at a very nice price. This game will come down to 'one important question: Can the Mets scratch out a couple of runs to support Steven Matz as they face Mike Bolsinger?

As for Bolsinger (4-2, 2.76), he's fared pretty well when he's pitched, but his pitch counts are low and this can be a possible opportunity to take the Mets as the underdog as you'll definitely see a lot of the Dodgers bullpen in this game.

Good Pitching Wins Games
The Dodgers are proof that good pitching wins games as they are currently ahead of the San Francisco Giants in the National League West Division even though I think that they were a much better team last season. A big reason for the Dodgers success is the play of Howie Kendrick.

Kendrick wouldn't be defined as a superstar, but he's the definition of a reliable hitter and always comes through in clutch situations as he carries a lot of experience in being with the Los Angeles Angels. For the season, Kendrick leads the Dodgers at 7 HR, 36 RBI, and a .296 BA. He's not going to blow away the opposition with power like Adrian Gonzalez, but he doesn't go into slumps and consistency is ever so important in this game. He won't be phased when facing Matz.

Although this is only Matz's 2nd start in the majors. the build up on this kid is huge. I'm going to side with the Mets despite their lackluster offense.

Sunday Night Baseball: San Francisco Giants vs. Washington Nationals

Getting Hot at the Right Time
Starter, Jordan Zimmerman, is definitely getting hot at the right time for the Nats as the All-Star Game approaches as he looks for his third consecutive game of pitching shut out ball. In his last 15 2/3 innings, Zimmerman hasn't allowed a run and his control has been picture perfect as he also hasn't allowed a walk. Runners aren't getting on and when you're facing a team a team that has been on top of the mountain so many times as the Giants have, this is a true asset.

Pure Domination
The Giants may have dominated baseball by winning 3 World Series titles in 5 years, but they have no hitter that comes close to Bryce Harper. Finally, Harper has put it all together this season and may very well be a better hitter than Mike Trout.

When Harper first came to the majors, the build up was huge, but this is the first season where we're seeing that it actually might be true that he's the best player in the game.. For the season, Harper is hitting .344 with 25 HR and 60 RBI. He also carries a .470 OBP% and has been nothing short of spectacular.

Harper is coming off of a 3 for 4 effort against S.F. with a double, a home runs and 2 RBI. Harper will be on national television and players get amped up for situations like this. The test will be tough, but my money is on Harper to deliver if need be.
