Baltimore Orioles vs. Kansas City Royals: 6 Game Losing Streak For the O's
The Baltimore Orioles picked the wrong time to go on an extending losing streak as we are closing in on the month of September and they're currently 8 games behind the American League East leading Toronto Blue Jays with 37 games remaining on the schedule where the regular season is concerned.
The O's have been hanging around all season long, but at 62-63, it's clear that they need to go on a long winning streak and it doesn't get easier as they face the American League Central Division leading Kansas City Royals (77-48) who are 13 games ahead of the Minnesota Twins for the division title, are 44-20 at home, and are also on a 4 game winning streak while going 8-2 in their last 10 games.
Johnny Cueto (9-8, 2.70) gets the start and he looks to bounce back from an awful start against the Boston Red Sox. I think the Orioles are in a lot of trouble in this game and the MLB betting odds are very reasonable.
Adjusting To American League Hitting
Johnny Cueto has made a great adjustment to the American League hitting featuring more power, but in his last start against a lowly Red Sox team, Cueto just didn't have it as he allowed 6 earned runs and 13 hits in just 6 innings, sending his AL ERA from 1.80 to 3.00 in one start. I happen to think that Cueto just had a rare poor outing and has caught a very vulnerable Orioles team at the absolute right time as he's one of the better pitchers in baseball despite the lack of run support that he has received this season. This isn't the CIncinnati Reds ofense supporting him, this is the division leading Royals protecting him tonight and he should have a big game.
K.C doesn't have an Albert Pujols on their squad, they have something better. This is a team with 5 players hitting from 11 to 14 home runs and also hitting for average as those 5 players' averages range from .276 to 3.13. A well balanced offensive and defensive attack has made them one of the best teams in baseball. Look for Cueto and the Royals offense to dominate this game.

Toronto Blue Jays at Texas Rangers: The Price is Right?
Maybe not in this case as the Blue Jays are a -176 betting favorite on the road, but the Jays have won 4 straight games, are 7-3 in their last 10 games, are a good road team, and most importantly have snatched the American League East lead away from the New York Yankees.
This is a slim 1 game lead and Toronto can ill-afford to slip up against a team that they are far superior than in the Texas Rangers. Toronto also has David Price pitching and he has been nothing short of spectacular as a member of the Blue Jays. In 4 starts with Toronto, Price has pitched 30 1/3 innings and allowed just 6 earned runs while striking out 33 batters I have mentioned this before. Price pitched deep into games and is not stranger to making 110- 120 pitches in a single game.
Not only do the Jays have Price, they have the best offense in the league. In their last 4 games, the Blue Jays have outscored their opponents 42-15. Thats's quite comforting for Price, who is coming off of stints with the Rays and underperforming Detroit Tigers.
Josh Donaldson is the one member of the Blue Jays that sticks out as he leads the Blue Jays in most offensive statistical categories. For the season, he's hitting .300 with 34 HR and 100 RBI. Donaldson also gets protection in the lineup from Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion as disenables him to see good pitches and enables him to be in a better position to get on base. He might not have the best numbers in the American League, but if Toronto keeps winning, he will be named the American League MVP this season as Mike Trout plays for a mere average team and strikes out a ton.
