We have some really favorable matchup to the bettor on this Thursday as some series are completing and other matchups are beginning. Time to make a profit for the loyal betting public.

We took a big loss yesterday as our major run with the New York Yankees has finally come to an end. Masahiro Tanaka was ineffective against the Texas Rangers. In the other game, we picked the Dodgers, but couldn't take credit for the win as Clayton Kershaw was scratched and Kershaw was our reason for interest in the Dodgers.
We have a lot of even matchups on Thursday as there are no real definitive pitching stars on today's slate.
Seattle Mariners vs. Minnesota Twins
Phil Hughes (9-6, 3.93) gets the start for the Twins and for the most part, he's been a reliable pitcher. Hughes is coming off of a very satisfying 10-1 victory over his former team, the New York Yankees. In this game, Hughes pitched 7 scoreless innings.
The month of July has been very favorable to Hughes as he pitched to a 2.49 ERA. Hewasn't very overpowering and was 2-0 with a few no-decisions, but Hughes hasn't lost a game since June 8th. Hughes has went deep into games without over-extending himself where the pitch count is concerned. A game at home against a Seattle team ,which ranks near the bottom half of the MLB statistically, makes Minnesota the slight betting favorite.
On the Outside, Looking In
The Mariners have had a very disappointing season at 46-56 and 11 games behind Houston. It would take a major winning streak for this team which has lost 3 consecutive games to get back in the race with 60 games left in the season. While it isn't likely, it's certainly possible. Players such as Nelson Cruz (26 HR, 61 RBI, .309 BA) and Robinson Cano are the catalysts to get this team moving in the proper direction. Cano has finally started to get in the groove after an awful start to the season and I see him as the "x-factor" in whether Seattle becomes a contender like last season or a failure. With 60 games remaining, the Mariners have no time to waste.
WIth a decisive advantage in starting pitching and appealing MLB odds, Minny is the pick.

Oakland Athletics vs. Cleveland Indians
No Time To Rest
I caught the A's vs. the Dodgers on television yesterday and this is a game that theAthletics handed to the Dodgers on a silver platter with poor relief pitching.
They must now face a Cleveland Indians team which is coming off of a 12-1 win over the tough Kansas City Royals as 10 game winner, Carlos Carrasco, takes the mound. The Indians are also underachievers but this is a team with the help of Michael Brantley (8 HR, 56 RBI, .301 BA) and Jason Kipnis (6 HR, 39 RBI, .333 BA) can lay a 10 spot against any opponent like yesterday. As a matter of fact. this team can score 10 runs in an inning,
While Carlos Santana and Brandon Moss are the power of the Tribe, they don't hit for average and lack of consistency is the reason why Cleveland is 46-54. Cleveland has also played better on the road than at home as they're just 20-32. They need this victory for their moral and can only look at the remainder of the season, one game at a time. I'm going to go with the underdog A's as my MLB pick in this matchup, Cleveland doesn't exsude a lot of confidence in themselves and the bettor.
