Making Life Difficult For Matt Harvey
Matt Harvey isn't even starting tonight and he keeps on making news as he's not happy with a 6-man rotation. Manager, Terry Collins, said "go play for the Mets affiliate on your day off". Of course, Collins was kidding, but this type of stuff and Harvey's Instagram messages just make for an unhappy clubhouse.
Even though the Mets have a weak offense, their pitching is fantastic and after the Harvey incident, I expect young guys such as Noah Syndergaard to come out strong and prove their value to their team, especially against a ball club such as the Arizona Diamondbacks who have very little offensively except for Paul Goldschmidt (20 HR, 68 RBI,.349 BA) and A.J. Pollock (11 RH, 42 RBI, 304 BA). Goldchmidt has an OBP% of near .500! If Syndergaaard can get past these two players without much damage, I expect him to have an easy time of it tonight against the 42-42 D'Backs.
A Look At Syndergaard
The Mets just keep producing studs like Syundegaard and pitchers get injured. You won't see a ball club in the majors with a more deep pitching staff. Syndergaard has had his ups and downs. He has great velocity, but he tends to give up too many hits. That's okay. This guy is only 22 years old and has the potential to be great with his 6 foot 6, 242 pounds frame.
For the season, Syndergaard is 3-4 with a 3.38 ERA. Even though his record isn't great, he's come on strong as of late. In his last 4 starts, he's pitched 24 innings and has allowed just 6 earned runs. During this time period, he's picked up 1 win and 3 no-decisions and he can thank the Mets offense for that as guys such as Lucas Duda have been a enormous disappointment.
Duda is 2 for 29 in the month of July and is batting .242 with 10 HR and 34 RBI, He's been stuck on 10 home run for ages. Luckily for the Mets, it's Syndergaard to the rescue tonight at CitiField.

Atlanta Braves vs. Colorado Rockies
To Be Decided?
It took a long time for the Rockies to name a starting pitcher as they only care about hitting at Coors Field and pitching is secondary. That won't fly with me as good pitching wins ball games. The Braves are the far superior team despite not playing well as of laste and being 2 games below .500. They have great betting odds on the road, and are sending Shelby Miller to the mound.
Miller has been dominant, but has received little run support. He should get a lot more runs than he's been getting as Coors Field is a hitter's delight. A superstitious handicapper wouldn't pick him as Miller hasn't recorded a victory since May 17th. That's going back a very long way, especially for a guy with a 2.07 ERA! Miller is more than due for a victory and tonight is the night.
We Have a Winner!
The Rockies have decided to send out David Hale. Hale hasn't fared so well this season as his 5.69 ERA might be a good reason why the Rockies were late in naming a starter.
There's nothing much to say about Hale as he's nothing more than a warm body to take the baseball for the Rockies. Colorado definitely has some hitters such as Charlie Blackmon, Nolan Arenado, Troy Tulowitzki, and Carlos Gonzalez who can hit at Coors Field, but there's a reason why they're in last place.
Look for Atlanta to get back on the winning track. Not having Freddie Freeman has been tough for the Braves, but they should be able to take care of business here, so back them with your MLB picks.
