The New York Yankees have been my bread and butter all season long and they came through for me again as Alex Rodriguez went deep and Mark Teixeira was Mr.Everything with his bat and handling Didi Gregorious throws in the field. The Los Angeles Angels also came through with a "W" quite easily.Let's keep the ball rolling with our winning picks.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets

Best Pitcher in the Past Decade
He's only 27 years old, but it's quite clear that when Clayton Kershaw is pitching his best, he's simply unstoppable. Give him a run and that's all that he needs. The Dodgers don't feature the most dominant offense in show of support for Kershaw, but Joc Pederson, Adrian Gonzalez, and Yasiel Puig are good enough to help Kershaw defeat the Mets.

The only issue in picking a game with Kershaw is the odds are going to astronomical. Normally, I wouldn't touch odds like this, especially on the road, but being that we're playing with house money and have been dominating, I'm going to back Kershaw and the Dodgers as the Mets have trouble scoring runs and Bartolo Colon has been inconsistent lately despite being a great asset to the Mets pitching staff.

Bottom line is, Curtis Granderson is inconsistent, Daniel Murphy has had a disappointing season, and Lucas Duda has basically disappeared after a great first month of the season, and much was expected from him. The Dodgers are playing in CitiField, which is a pitcher's ball park despite the fences being moved in. This game is set up perfect for Clayton Kershaw. (7-6, 2.68)

How Good Is He?
I haven't forgotten that Kershaw got off to a rough start this season, but he's been on fire as of late. He's coming off of a 14 strikeout performance in which he allowed Washington a mere 3 hits in 8 innings and in his last 24 innings (3 starts), he's allowed just 1 earned run and struck out 34 batters. That's simple dominance and he's facing a weak offense. Try hard to ignore the massive amount of juice being layed on the road and realize that you're backing an unstoppable force. L.A. is the play.

Boston Red Sox vs. Houston Astros

7 Games and Counting
While the Houston Astros are on a 3 game winning streak and fighting for a division title, the Boston Red Sox are going nowhere, on a 7 game losing streak, and playing themselves out of the American League East Division. What surprises me about this game are the odds. The Astros are at home and Lance McCullers has pitched to a 2.52 ERA. The Astros should be huge betting favorites, but because of the Boston Red Sox persona, the Stros are just a -129 betting favorite. This is an outright steal according to past play and I don't see anything changing in this game.

Home Cooking
You can also add in the fact that McCullers has been dominant at home. He has a 1.20 ERA in 30 innings pitched. Boston has hitters that can beat any team in the majors with one swing of the bat such as Big Papi David Ortiz, but Ortiz is nearing 40 years old and unlike Alex Rodriguez, he's declining steadily. He can't play the field and is starting to not be able to hit.

Boston sits at the bottom of the American League Division at 42-53 and aren't getting production out of Mike Napoli (.198) and Ortiz's production is marginal as he's hitting just .231 on the season. The Sox have relied more heavily on the young guns in Xander Bogaerts (3 HR, 46 RBI,.311) and Brock Holt (2 HR, 22 RBI,.286 BA), but neither player possesses the power that a winning team needs.

Much Improved Ball Club
The Astros on the other hand, have a ton of incentive as they attempt to chase down the Angels for the division title. This is a very deep squad with great hitting, good speed, and great pitching. Jose Altuve has been here since the beginning and might not have the season that he had last year, but his numbers are still impressive and getting better. For the season, the 5 foot 5 Altuve is hitting .297 with 8 HR, 41 RBI, and 27 SB. He get's a ton of support with guys like Evan Gattis backing him. The Astros might be one year away from the elite teams, but they should handle the bottom-feeding Boston Red Sox quite easily.
